Texas Department Public Safety spokesman Lt. Christopher Olivarez confirmed to a reporter during a live shot that police officers went into Robb Elementary School to get their own children during the massacre.
Amid outrage over reports that frantic families who complained about police inaction during the massacre were held back by police, a clip of a live interview with Olivarez from Tuesday has gone viral.

If you were in fact referring to those who waited, I will withdraw my comment and apologize for misinterpreting your post.
I have we indeed referring to those who waited and did nothing.
Doom on every last one of them.
L
Not the first time I have misunderstood a comment.
My issue would then become: who gave the stand down order? His head should roll. Take care.
Damned right I'd go for MY kid first, but then go back for the others.
ANY person with two functioning parental brain cells would!!!
Complaints are rife about the quality of LEOs.
Presently, police departments can hire men with previous military experience—those who run to the sound of gunfire.
Id like to see financial, healthcare, and retirement encouragement.
Texan and Radio Host, Jessie Kelly (iHeart—WIOD) is livid about this unfolding disaster.
Evil people!
With an ASSAULT rifle??
Oh; here are some that shoot 22 ammo!

Sorry Dad.
Still triggered, boy?
I was gonna say what you just said but I like your way better, actually. If this is true someone needs to hang for it.
That mass shooting took place about 1965 or so. There are documentaries made about it. There is at least one video on YouTube about it. A TV movie was even made about it. The times were different back then. Even the press was mostly credible.
You are completely right.
Not buying it. Something here smells really bad.
What if the order to stand down came from DC?
Some LE must have immediately entered to help vacate the other kids from the school, maybe 600 of them.
There may have been officers outside, some of them designated to control the scene, but there had to be others inside.
Sadly you could be right but I couldn’t just stand there doing nothing while children are dying.
We have come a long way from the Nation we were in 2001...
When you remember the hundreds of police & firemen who died saving, or attempting to save, tower victims...
That is something that would not happen in today’s society where LEOs at all levels are not only thoroughly corrupt, but are self-serving & spineless as well...
An important note, the young guys (mostly U of T students, possibly all students) went to their pickups and retrieved their .22 rimfire rifles from the gun racks. In 1966 this was not an uncommon thing at all in Texas, indeed even at UT.
They then proceeded to harass Whitman from behind cover with their .22s until the APD arrived. Two APD officers ran up the stairs and caught Whitman flat footed and shot him dead. My recollection of what I read about it is vague, but I seem to recall that Whitman not only had wounds consistent with the police weapons but he also had been hit by .22 fire.
I'm not sure about this either, but someone here posted that one civilian ran up the steps with the cops at the same time. That could have happened, but it would never happen these days.
It's a matter of opinion of course, but a salient point would be about the choice of caliber for a firearm in such a defensive situation. I think I'd opt for the .22 myself, yes the one in my truck (remember it's 1966 and not 2022, after all) rather than a deer rifle, lest I accidentally kill someone in the next county. Remember, all you gotta do is hit him bad enough to mess up his aim.
“Remember, all you gotta do is hit him bad enough to mess up his aim.”
Even just anyone shooting back at him is going to slow him down and save lives too.
McConnell is a sleazy politician, and, as such, is making political statements he thinks are soothing to the situation.
Schumer is a disgusting, repulsive, POS, and it is hard to listen to the gay sounding bastard.
