Kaepernick last played in the NFL during the 2016 season, when he knelt during the national anthem to protest police brutality and social injustice.

“That 2016 season, my last year, my teammates voted me most courageous and inspirational player,” he said. “So, when you’re talking about the people that are in the building, that has never come out that I’ve been a distraction. That’s never come out that I’ve been an issue for the people I’ve played with.”

“Exile” Funny way to describe an athlete who washed out.

Article is disinformation. He wanted a starting job. There were none.

I don’t get this. I have not followed Capernick’s story closely. But I remember he had a highly publicized workout, a year or 2 ago?

Wouldn’t some team have signed him already, if he had the talent to be there? I hear he was not a very successful NFL quarterback.

The NFL could make this Capernick controversy go away, if they designated a team to “take one for the team” and sign Capernick and have him sit on the bench, be a backup for a season.

Anyway, isn’t he getting old, in his 30s now, old for an athlete I mean?

LOL. I think virtue-signaling NFL teams with no playoff hopes are going to be giving this loser “NFL tryouts” at the age of 60.

Does the NFL owe him anything? He couldn’t play. 5 years later he can?

Sounds like virtue signaling. Owner Mark Davis seems to be in hot water regarding women. How will he get any female attention other than to use his power? He’s really ugly-make a clock stop ugly. Either that or he has to speak up on a glass of water.

Colin Kaepernick has his best chance of returning to the NFL since his protest against social injustice effectively exiled him from the league

What effectively exiled him from the league was that he was a lousy QB. Had he been even half as good as Tom Brady, at least a dozen teams would have anxiously signed him, regardless of his sideline political antics.

Why should I care about a bunch of overpaid drama queens giving another drama queen a workout?

I am so completely over the NFL, NBA, MLB. etc, etc, etc

He would be poison to any team that signs him.

The Biden administration will get him a starting role on an NFL team.

Wait. He’s been off for 5 years and wants to be a starting quarterback? LOL.

Well, why not try? Maybe the groveling, kneeling, pusillanimous NFL will make it happen.

he can not afford to take the position and have people learn he is not a worthy martyr.

he will ignore the offer but if he doesn’t and the raiders offer him a job, they probably will use him niggardly.

34 year old 2nd string QB who hasn’t played in 6 years. Yea, my expectations really can’t go much lower.

He was a pretty average at best QB who had one good year. He hasn’t played in the league in SIX YEARS. Its not like anybody blackballed him. He just wasn’t good enough. It happens....quite often actually.

He’s done. Who is anybody kidding?

> his protest against social injustice effectively exiled him from the league <

Oh, so it had nothing to do with Kaepernick‘s marginal football skills?

As a side note, I’m over 60 years old. And I’ve got arthritis. But I’d be a starting NFL quarterback today - except that my protest against high cable bills effectively exiled me from the league.

Yeah, that’s the ticket. I ought to see a lawyer about this.

The 2023 draft will feature an assortment of really good quarterbacks. Colin is ancient in NFL terms.
