Maybe a test question has a scenario of a white male shooting minorities at a grocery store..

“Our experts determined that there is content on the new Regents Examination in U.S. History & Government (Framework) that has the potential to compound student trauma caused by the violence in Buffalo”

Don’t want to traumatize any of those students that might wet their diapers.

Shame on the teachers for allowing this to happen.

"That the Regents exams even exist is stupid. Only State in the Union that still has them"

Yeah, imagine making kids take a test on what they learned through the school year. It's ludicrous.

Beyond stupid. But hey, they need time to rewrite history for the next exam.

Anything the left can do to dumb down the populace. Any reason, any excuse. The dumber, the more ignorant, the easier to rule.

IIRC the Buffalo shooter scored very high on the NYS Regents exam.

There must be a linkage between the exam and the shooter that they do not want to be exposed.

I smell a coverup.

Yea, but the SUNY tuition room and board was $1500/year for in state residents.

AND you could buy a case of OV Splits at Mulligans Brick Bar in Allentown for $9 on Monday nights.

Labatt’s Blue went on sale for $4.99/case at Consumers Beverage

from ny post-——

“While developed by NYS-certified social studies teachers more than two years ago and field-tested to confirm that the exam’s content is educationally sound, the tragedy in Buffalo has created an unexpected and unintended context for the planned assessment,” the statement said. “In the wake of the Buffalo tragedy, it is not appropriate to administer the exam with a question that could compound the grief and hardship faced by our school communities.”

When asked what specific content the experts found troubling, the department declined to answer, telling The Post to submit a public records request.

They NEVER cancelled Regents Exams when I was in school in NY in the ‘60s. It was like a religion. You showed up and took the test, or failed the class. No compromises; no excuses.

I recall taking my Algebra Regents and barfing on the floor next to my desk because no proctor was available to walk me to the restroom. Someone came to clean it. I barfed again. Got cleaned up again. Didn’t pass; had to re-take the whole class next semester.

The disturbing “content” was probably an article accurately explaining the 2nd Amendment!

I moved from New York to Florida right before my freshman year of high school and was happy that I didn’t have to take the Regents exam.

You are correct. And that is still the case, but I think it now only refers to SUNY schools.

could be wrong. my kid was there over a decade ago.

They changed back in the late 80s, early 90s, I think.

I had a Regents scholarship and it was $1000 for the four years, so $125 per semester. However, I attended Brooklyn College, which was cheaper than. Between this and financial aid, most of tuition was taken care of.

A few years later, that $1000 was reduced to something ridiculous, like $200 ($25/semester).

Hmmm... maybe the shooter was deprived a scholarship in order for the State of New York to pander to the mob using taxpayers' money?

He apparently had a Regents diploma with advanced designation according to the manifesto being shown online as his.

That $500 a semester went a long way for me in 1954.

“the department declined to answer, telling The Post to submit a public records request”

This is what passes for institutional transparency these days...

Everybody thinks they are an intelligence agency with national security secrets—total clowns.

Regent Scholarships are one of the few left awarded on academic merit, if anything that should be the rule not the exception.
