Henry Kissinger said that Ukraine must concede territory to Russia to end the war, and warned the West that a humiliating defeat for Russia could result in wider destabilisation.
The legendary statesman, now 98, made the comments in a conference at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland Monday

Adolph Putin has humiliated himself, Henry. He started this mess, and he can take the consequences.
Looking back at the world circa 1970, Nixon et al did a remarkable thing. They managed to wedge a gap between China and Russia. How that wedge was managed over the last 50 years has gotten us to this place. Nixon had nothing to do with that course.
Meanwhile Kissinger with Nixon’s urging managed to get us out of Vietnam. That quagmire would have gone on for another 50 years given how it was being fought. Refusal to widen the war (nixon was lambasted for going into Cambodia) by taking out Hyphong with mines was ridicules. It was so what the country wanted that Nixon was reelected with 49 states approval. It was set in motion but completed after the Dems managed to get him removed over some BS political spying.
On both accounts I support what they did.
Amazing how quickly the gullible crowd changed the conspiracy narrative. Clowns.
He was a counterintelligence sergeant in Europe during Word War II.
I’m of the mindset that anyone and anything that damages warmongers and their march toward global destruction, I’m for. I’ll cast them aside as needed after we win.
Zelensky ran, and won, on a platform of promising to negotiate with Russia, and abide by the Minsk Accords.
So yes, this was very popular with most average Ukrainians, of both ethnic/linguistic persuasions.
But Zelensky was soon dominated by the extreme Bandera/Azovites. And now, Ukraine will lose much more than they would have under Minsk.
Appeasement doesn’t work. Ask the countries who foolishly tried that.
Uhhh... Russia "gambled" and crushed the Ukraine army. Or are you still drinking the leftie/MSM koolaid that Russia is losing?
Just facts, bro.

There are already reports that the Russians are preparing to withdraw from Izyum since they lost Kharkiv. The Ukrainians are also planning to re-take Izyum in the very near future
-——————— ———— ———— ————
So how’s that recapture of Izyum working out for ya??
almost as good as the successful evacuation of Mariupol ..LOL
appeasement with evil is a victory for evil
The RINO playbook. Just replace “appeasement” with “bipartisanship”.
I digress.
It is a shame that all of these threads have become so ugly and rigid. Russia is the aggressor and what they are doing is horrible. I want to see the conflict end. I also want to avoid a larger conflict or God forbid, the use of nuclear weapons.
As I have said many times, I feel sorry for the powerless citizen on both sides who are paying a horrific price over the games played by elites. That is human history in a nutshell isn’t it?
Ask yourself how/why our State Department is getting so much of the money in the “Ukraine Aid Package”. Why? They did such a bang-up job in the sandbox and Middle East at large along with the Ukraine that we are going to reward them with a 13 billion dollar slush fund to work with globalist NGO’s?
It is possible to despise Putin AND the elites over the Ukraine. This is not directed at you, but it seems like it is easiest to just pick a side and be ugly to the opposite faction when in reality all of us should despise the elites who brought us to this point on BOTH sides.
Yes, Putin is the biggest corruptocrat in the picture but the Euros, our diplomats and intel agencies, the oligarchs in the Ukraine, and our media bear some blame too. They thrive on sowing chaos and the little people pay a big price. Where has all the money gone that we threw into the Ukraine over the past few decades? What did we get for it? What did the average Ukrainian get for it?
I want an accounting. Yes, Putin is #1 on the list but why are my children and grandchildren paying for these elite games in the Ukraine (again)? Where is all this money going? How did we contribute to this proxy war and who benefited from it?
Why can we not ask these questions without being called a Putinista? Again, rhetorical questions not addressed specifically to you.
That's right out of the bottom of the barrel. Attack a Jew who as a kid got beaten up for walking the street in the 1930s in Berlin iirr.
So am I, generally.
I'm going to be consistent in this ONE instance.
Kissinger - even a senile old Kissinger, if he is indeed in that state - is one tricksy bastiche.
Hard to say if he's the Voice of Reason, or the Voice That Will Be Mocked.
The guys at The Duran were pointing the NYT article of the other day coming out in favor of Ukraine taking the L and getting out of the war while the getting was good.
Why is anyone still listening to this doddering old fool? He’s been wrong most of his life.
Which way the humiliation will go is yet to be decided.
It’s important to note that Z ran on accepting the Minsk Accords but once elected he did a 180. The neocons won’t be happy until the last Ukrainian is shot dead. War is good for business.
Gotcha.
It may surprise some people to know that the 2015 Minsk agreements while providing greater autonomy for the Luhansk and Donetsk regions did NOT release them from being a functional part of Ukraine, and that Russia was fine with that arrangement.
Today it is a different story, but the original intent was NOT to break up Ukraine any further.
