More than 230 consumer, environmental and public interest groups urged the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the electric utility industry for widespread abuses. These include bribery, fake dark-money campaigns and denying customers access to renewable energy.…

10 sjw’s with a bunch of rented url’s, that share a PO box and a storefront on K Street in DC. $oro$ money, you bet.
Lawfare practitioners should be terminated with extreme prejudice.
They all believe that when the price of gasoline doubles, it’s just the oil companies pocketing the extra cash. Nothing to do with supply and demand!
I guess they’ll have to start cutting down forests in New England and burning the wood to keep from freezing in the winter.
I will suggest that any environmental group be exterminated for the good of the country
“...and denying customers access to renewable energy.”

Which sounds like a big lefty issue, but in a lot of places the power utilities have pushed to have laws passed that do not allow people to cut the (power) cable and go off the grid, but instead require a reversible power meter. It’s not about the environment, it’s about monopolistic control over resources.
Environmental groups are Mental
Looks like Putin’s environmental puppets are still in place, disrupting America’s energy grid.
Just got on here to snark about the 'source'.
Shirley an objective viewpoint therein, eh?
Oh joy. Now electric prices will go through the roof. Alternative energy sources will be mandated, service everywhere will fail like a cold Texas winter or hot California summer.
Just leave me and my coal fired electric co-op service alone. It's cheap and reliable right now.
You in a competition with Lurkinandloomin for number of canned replies?
Thats exactly what they are. Russia has been running subversive environmentalist campaigns for decades, in both the US and Europe. This is economic sabotage and an act of war.
> denying customers access to renewable energy.… <
That’s the bottom line. Harass the electric companies until all of their electric power is generated by magical unicorns.
I type real fast. And we have an infestation of Putin’s Green puppets where I live. These Greenie-Weenies actually try to get people killed in my area.
These include bribery, fake dark-money campaigns and denying customers access to renewable energy.
Solar power is readily available. You can buy wood for cooking and heating. Build a windmill or a water wheel. Get a horse. The electric companies aren't stopping you.

Are you saying that they’re making it illegal to stop using utility company power? It would seem to me that since I own my house, I should be able to disconnect any wires, etc. that go into my house. Just disconnect the feed at the fuse box.
Yes, in many places you cannot just disconnect.
I’ve never been to this site before but I found it doing a quick search and this guy does a good job summarizing the different states. Check out Arizona for example.

That is reason #1 I bought a solar inverter with the "no output" option (sometimes called "zero report"). I don't put power onto the grid, therefore I'm not a "power generating customer", therefore I'm not under the regulations like the one you described. (I'm not off-grid, I'm using a hybrid tie-in solar system.) Thus I don't pay the large extra monthly fee only to get paid pennies back when the grid buys power from me. Thus my system doesn't have to automatically cut power to my house when the grid power goes down.
Thanks for the info. I never would have believed it.
It’s a good investment if you look at what they are doing to oil prices and now want to triple your heating bill.
