It’s closer to cowpox or camelpox which is why the original cowpox vaccine works 85% of the time against it. The govt won’t give out the cowpox version as that also stops smallpox and any nation that has a significant portion of people immune to smallpox can then use it as a weapon so the WHO has convinced everyone to stop the cowpox vaccine version once smallpox was declared extinct in the wild.
