“Butthole bandits are spreading it.”

This is going to get interesting. I wonder if there will be ‘lockdowns’ in the gay community, and if there is, I wonder if they’ll mind...

Grrrr no, contact tracing and actual quarantine of the exposed. Oh I saw the /s ok whew I was gonna be triggered. P100 respirators would work but monkey pox like small pox has a very high formite vector of transmission and a 60+% household attack rate that’s significant.

Congo, Ghana, Nigeria, Nigeria, Nigeria, Nigeria

Seems like everything either comes from Africa or China.

“but monkey pox like small pox has a very high formite vector of transmission “

~~~
I take that to mean that not only will they try to turn everything back to lockdowns, masks and distancing (before the elections of course), but we will also have to go back to everyone spraying everything all the time?
“In Africa, people have been infected through bites from rodents or small animals, and it does not usually spread easily among people.
However, investigators in Europe say most of the cases have been in gay or bisexual men, and officials are looking into the possibility that some infections were spread through close contact during sex.”
It’s closer to cowpox or camelpox which is why the original cowpox vaccine works 85% of the time against it. The govt won’t give out the cowpox version as that also stops smallpox and any nation that has a significant portion of people immune to smallpox can then use it as a weapon so the WHO has convinced everyone to stop the cowpox vaccine version once smallpox was declared extinct in the wild. It’s like nuclear MAD same concept same idiocy.
The money quote.
“This unusual spike in cases outside of Africa could suggest a novel means of spread or a change in the virus, said Anne Rimoin, an epidemiology professor at UCLA in California. “But this is all to be determined”.
“This isn’t going to cause a nationwide epidemic like COVID did,” cautioned Jimmy Whitworth, professor of international public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
“But it’s a serious outbreak of a serious disease – and we should take it seriously.””
Don’t count your chickens before th36 hatch my good doctor.
Seems that monkey pox can survive for quite a while in air.
There’s a vaccine from the 1800s that works the original smallpox vaccine where the word vaccine comes from. Vaccinia virus is the original smallpox vaccine from 1796.
