PERSEVERANCE
The idea of perseverance is an important component in athletics, the military, studies, and even in religion. Perseverance is the master key, the secret of success when you are in the middle of the struggle. It is that extra, the second air, the capacity to overcome the discouragement. Our society is making a lot of progress. We have technology and facilities that no one in history ever had before. The new generations can grow up today more healthy, and live longer. But we do have an Achilles' heel: the absence of the spirit of perseverance. A young man enthusiastically joined the military yesterday...he wants to resign today. A student goes to college with a lot of promises to herself; three months down the road, she withdraws from those studies. A couple got married today; a year later they file for divorce. The problem, as I see it, is that while we are helping the younger generation grow up, we are overprotecting them and making the journey too easy. We are not teaching them the important sense of perseverance, that attitude of sacrifice and consistency that every successful person has to maintain to reach their goals. The scriptures cover the importance of perseverance. It was Jesus who said, "Because of the increase of our wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved" (Matthew 24:12-13). We receive hope and courage through these words. It may be hard, but to love when others hate, make peace and justice when others cause fights and unhappiness, build when others destroy, is "standing firm". In every task, where we practice consistency and perseverance, we will see the good fruit of our sacrifice. And at the end of the final chapter of the book of our life, we will fully understand what Jesus meant through his words, "But he who stands firm to the end will be saved". Monkeying with the Cosmos
He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Colossians 1:17 nlt
In the early 1980s, a prominent astronomer who didn’t believe in God wrote, “A common sense interpretation of the facts suggests that a super-intellect has monkeyed with physics, as well as with chemistry and biology.” To this scientist’s eye, the evidence showed that something had designed everything we observe in the cosmos. He added, “There are no blind forces worth speaking about in nature.” In other words, everything we see looks as if it was planned by Someone. And yet, the astronomer remained an atheist.
Three thousand years ago, another intelligent man looked at the skies and drew a different conclusion. “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?” wondered David (Psalm 8:3–4).
Yet God cares for us deeply. The universe tells the story of its Intelligent Designer, the “Super Intellect” who made our minds and put us here to ponder His work. Through Jesus and His creation, God can be known. Paul wrote, “[Christ] existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth” (Colossians 1:15–16 nlt).
The cosmos has indeed been “monkeyed with.” The identity of the Intelligent Designer is there to be discovered by anyone willing to seek. — Tim Gustafson
In what ways can you see God in every detail of your life? How might you humbly share your confidence in God with someone who doubts His existence?
Thank You, heavenly Father, that You can be known through Your creation. I pray for those who don’t see You. Please draw them to You.

We got a smidge of rain overnight, but we need a deep cleaning rain.

Back again after beating my keyboard into submission. The “k” stopped working. Dug out another keyboard before deciding to shake this one up and spray with canned air. Whew! We are functioning again.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Are your feetsies still connected to your body? Lots of museum visitors today?
What little rain we had seems to be long gone.

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

I did sleep fairly well. I woke up about 2 with my iPad still in my hands. Turn stuff off, back to sleep til 6, and then 8:30...not bad for me. LOL!
Went into work to sort, match, and mail garnishment checks. More than a few returned mail/checks issues. Took me longer than usual and a bit frustrated. Home by 3:45pm in time to post the Chapel thread at 4pm. I need to sort/work some more on the stuff I brought home.

Hey there, Kathy.
Bummer you didn’t get more rain than you did but a little is better than none.
There’s been some rain in areas of TN the past couple of days but nothing here. We hoped for some overnight but right now, prospects don’t look good at all.
Feetsies are a little tired but not too bad. It wasn’t an overly busy weekend but it was a good one. A late day today. Just before closing, a woman came in with three veterans she’d driven up from AL to see the museum. One, a WWII vet who fought at the Battle of the Bulge, one a WWII and Korea War vet and the third, a Korea and Vietnam vet.
I could have left at closing time but no way I was going anywhere while they were there. Mark gave them the tour and I tagged along so I could hear any stories they told. All very nice gentlemen and interesting.
Poor Bella wasn’t feeling too great when I got home because I was late dosing her. I felt guilty but those vets were people I just couldn’t pass up.
Bella was breathing better in no time so all’s good. :-)

Couldn’t help but chuckle at you waking up with you iPad in hand. :-)
You did get a good night’s sleep though. More than I got! LOL
But not exactly a restful day. I hope you can get enough done tonight that you’ll have some free time tomorrow to relax with a good book or something.
