“I don’t care what anyone says, there are ghosts in there, man,” Hizzoner told Yankees announcers Michael Kay and Cameron Maybin, who invited him into the booth after the mayor tossed out the first pitch. Adams laughed while confirming he sees stuff moving around and hears footsteps in the stately 223-year-old country house that became the official mayor’s residence in 1942.
“Listen, they’re creeping around,” he said.
If the mansion is haunted, that would be news to historians, ghost hunters and former employees, who told The Post they aren’t familiar with stories of spirits, hauntings or undead people lurking around the People’s House.

Tear down the wall and let them out....
And what’s worse, they are white ghosts.
Racists no doubt.
The tormented souls of the living are usually terrified by the tormented souls of the dead. Because they know that’s where they’re headed.
Country house in Manhattan ?
..
I think it’s north of Wall Street.
Did Adams just say he saw Bogeymen?
No, those be just wypeepo, mah brutha.
Maybe he heard those Bogie-Wogie men, you know, the one’s from Company B.
Just a bunch of Democratic voters hanging around until the next election
I guess in 1799, it was “in the country” at that point in time.
Black man believes in ghosts. Shocking.
My old mom stayed in a few hotels on the east of Texas and said, there were howling and noises all night. My dad didn’t hear anything. She went to the front desk and asked ‘is this place haunted?’ and they just said maybe. Turns out it was the same place that Spielberg stayed at and initiated the movie Poltergeist.
After that, she’s said she’s seen ‘ghosts’ in the ally-way of her house, and later talked to my stepdad who denied it at first, but later said he saw it too.
Do I believe? Maybe.
dis house is sho gone crazy!
ghosts = spooks ?
Do you default to “ghosts” as your first explanation of weird noises?
Yes, the CIA is creeping around trying to scare the black mayor.
No, I have not experienced more than 2 ‘supernatural’ things personally and they might’ve been just brain-burps.
My mom’s experiences seem a bit more. She’s had 3 total. The noises in the hotel, and seeing a phantom in her ally-way that was a huge farm area.
I can’t personally say I’ve seen anything, but I’ve ‘heard’ of it.
“...the CIA is creeping around trying to scare the black mayor”
Stranger things have happened.
