One in four public electric vehicle charging stations in the San Francisco Bay Area does not work, according to a new study.
The report, produced by David Rempel of the University of California at Berkeley, suggested that while California — especially the Bay Area — is trying to make the shift to electric vehicles in a hurry, the current infrastructure is not ready.

No Power For You!!
I wonder if “out of order” really means vandalized or outright stolen.
A friend sent me a pic of a charging station in California that had a diesel back up generator, funny
EV’s are great COMMUTER CARS, if you charge them at home.
Otherwise….faggetaboutit.
Current infrastructure is too ambiguously worded. Do they mean the present infrastructure or the electricity-bearing infrastructure? :-)

Depends on the car. A Leaf’s range is only 150 miles. That’s a commuter car. For me, 300 miles is a fine range. That’ll let me go about 4-5 hours. Take a lunch. Drive 4-5 more hours. Personally, I don’t drive more than 9 hours in a day. But I could then take a dinner and drive 4 more hours (90% charge.) Maybe in the open midwest I could hope to go further than 300 miles in 4-5 hours.
THE WHOLE CITY OF SAN FRANCISCO IS OUT OF ORDER AS IS MOST OF THE REST OF THE STATE.
... because of course they are. Forget it Jake, it's San Francisco.
Electricity is racist! 🤣🤣🤣
All of San Francisco and much of California is “out of order”
California no longer works
And BTW, the drought this summer and the rest of the year is likely to destroy life in Southern California as there is no water.
The climate is resulting to the normal desertification condition
Call AAA.
I’ll bet 1 in 4 of just about everything is Out of Order in San Francisco. When I was there last fall, it was an odyssey just finding a public restroom with a working toilet.
We’re you there for business, or are you insane?
:)
I remember a photo of a large EV charging lot — it looked a bit like an old drive-in theater only smaller — under several inches of water.
I know it’s not traditional for Freepers to do so, but if you took ten seconds to read the article, you’d find the answer to your question.
Bottom line: Deep State doesn’t want us driving.
Period.
Understand that, and everything Deep State is doing makes perfect sense.
Deep State isn’t nuts.
Deep State is EVIL.
I actually did read the article (which is quite unusual for me). It’s not what they said. It’s that I no longer believe everything I read. That’s especially true when an article cites a study from the University of California at Berkeley.
(Yeah, maybe I’m being too cynical.)
You have to have electricity to have a “charging station”. You can take that to the bank.
