One of the most shameful things we have ever done was to create and supply the Syrian rebel movement which became ISIS. They got out of hand, then we went after them. But we never lost sight of the overall goal, over throwing Assad.
Part of the process is helping the north east corner of the country break away from Syria... which is apparently ok when we do it.
Most shameful of all was the US Military refusing Trump’s order to pull out. They simply flipped him the finger, reclassified all of our guys as “advisors” and continued unabated.

ISIS formed from Al Qaeda in Iraq (AIQ) after US withdrawal in 2009. Since they were in Syria pre-2009 to avoid US forces. They stayed in Syria and became ISIS after US withdrawal because they were border-hopping making the most of both countries.
At most the US supplied some FSA units which defected to ISIS and Islamic national front factions.
But yeah, the whole Fkn region is a Wild West FFZ. You got a good line on supplies you can start you own faction for a time. For whatever reason you can negotiate.

Exactly, but for some reason people just can’t imagine that happening. Putin isn’t known to bluff, and he’s well aware the US is intent on his removal (and probably tried for war crimes and sentenced to death) so do people actually think he’s just going to surrender? I wouldn’t take that bet. Putin doesn’t have much time on this earth anyway, and I doubt he is willing to surrender Russia to the West without at least a tactical nuclear strike should it become necessary. Then how will senile Biden and his idiot crew respond to that? An all out nuclear war? Some of you folks are living in la la land.
They would need to bring their stuff by air. The Turks have closed the Straits. And the Turks might object to Russia using their airspace as well.

Using limited nukes would turn Russia into a pariah state for a generation. Countries like India and others would turn on them. They would be as isolated as North Korea.
