Davis: Democrats can win the 2022 midterms by asking Republicans to answer two questions
The hill ^ | 05/06/2022 | LANNY J. DAVIS

Posted on 05/06/2022 1:18:24 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Here are two questions that Senate and House Democratic campaign committees should demand — through well-financed national and state ad campaigns, on broadcast network, cable news channels and social media — that Republicans answer, yes or no:

1.  Will you repudiate publicly Donald Trump’s praise of Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine?

2.  Do you agree with the Supreme Court’s decision allowing states to make it a crime for a woman to have an abortion if they become pregnant as a result of rape or incest?

Just “yes” or “no” to both.

(1) Trump said that Putin was smart. That's not praise of his invasion of Ukraine. The devil is smart, too. That's not praising the devil.

(2) Lanny, do you have a problem with democracy? States are ruled by the people through their elected representatives. Do you think the will of the people should be overruled by unelected judges?

Just “yes” or “no”.

“Have you stopped beating your wife?” Just as valid a question as his two.

Good questions. I expect many Republicans to stumble and fail and lose when confronted with these questions.

What the hell are you talking about? there's no "yes or no" answer to those lies. Trump never said it and the SC never ruled that way. So you think republicans will be stumped by outright lies?

It's just Lanny Davis and an attempt at deceitful propaganda.

Rape and incest are the reasons for only a tiny fraction of abortions, but are brought up, I believe, because they shift the argument away from the completely innocent child in the womb and back to the condition of the mother. If an exception can be made for rape or incest, then why not for other factors affecting the mother’s psychological well-being?

Let’s turn it around......

Question 1 - do you support Biden’s decision in 2021 green lighting the Nordstream 2 pipeline from Russia to Europe which helps fund Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and gave away any leverage the US had to prevent that invasion.

Question 2 - since in any abortion procedure at least 1 innocent human being is intentionally killed, often just for convenience, explain how you morally and legally justify denying “the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” to the person being killed ?

You’re not really asking a question when you are controlling the answer. You are employing a tactic . Further, if you think people who are living in the unmitigated multi-pronged disaster that is the Biden presidency even CARE at this point about what Trump said or the abortion thing you may be stupid or nuts.

Those people will vote Democrat no matter what. It’s the still sane people who will vote Republican.

Potential answers:

"I disagree with anyone who praises Vladimir Putin's and Russia's invasion of the Ukraine. Like President Trump, I condemn it, whether it's the invasion of the Crimea under Obama's watch, or now with Biden at the wheel. And I also disagree with and condemn anyone who wants shed American blood and risk starting World War III over it. Is that what you want?"

"I believe in the sanctity of life, including the life of a pregnant WOMAN (emphasis on "woman"). And I also believe in the Constitution, and specifically the 10th Amendment. There is nothing to stop States making law to protect it."

I believe Lanny Davis is a lawyer and ought to know that you should avoid asking questions in court when you don't have any idea of the answer that's coming.

1. Will you repudiate publicly Democrat’s praise of Pedophiles’ invasion of children’s bodies?

2. Do you agree with the Supreme Court’s decision allowing states to choose whether to slaughter innocent children or not?

I gotta give Lanny Davis some credit.

He says the most absurd, gaslighting things with a straight face.

1.  Will you repudiate publicly Donald Trump’s praise of Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine?

No. He never praised the invasion. He praised Putin's savvy.

2.  Do you agree with the Supreme Court’s decision allowing states to make it a crime for a woman to have an abortion if they become pregnant as a result of rape or incest?

No. The SCOTUS is not making abortion illegal in ANY sense, much less for 'rape and incest'. You, as a so-called lawyer, know better.

When the news of Russia invasion broke, I vaguely remember Trump saying something like “that was genius of Putin to execute a special military operation” paraphrasing.

On main point, Trump is 100% correct in AVOIDING getting involved in this war. Because our national debt is off the charts. Even 1 bullet sent to Ukraine adds to national debt.
We just don’t have the money anymore to act world police. Let UN handle that job, and let Europe handle wars in Europe. I am tired of protecting Europe while they contribute much smaller portions of their GDP to military.
