Amazon will reimburse its staff in the US up to $4,000 in travel expenses annually for a range of non-life threatening medical treatments, including elective abortions, as conservative-led laws look to block access in many states.

The online retail giant's decision comes after a leaked memo on Monday revealed that the U.S. Supreme Court could be poised to overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade case that legalized abortion nationwide.

In a message sent to Amazon employees on Monday, obtained by Reuters, Amazon told its employees that the new work benefit would apply to an employee if an operation could not be done within 100 miles of their home and virtual care is not accessible.

Umm..so what if an employee wants to go to Mayo Clinic to see an oncologist about treatment and Mayo is out of network. Will they pay up to $4000?

why don’t they just require that their employees be sterilized? Presto, no need for an abortion.

Just send them to North Korea. They’ll be welcomed as fellow travelers, no doubt.

This won’t be offered to the part time slaves that are more likely to use it.
Most drivers are not Amazon employees, but contractors working for LLCs.

Hopefully, some day, they’ll have to send them to China.

Probably cheaper, in the end, than paying maternity leave for a pregnant employee.

Amazon can do what it wants, but not with my money.

Up until now i have just ignored this typical woke stupidity.

Now? Done with them.

Amazon barely lets its employees have break time to go to the bathroom, and they are very stingy about helping employees get health care insurance, or have time off to take care of medical needs.

To answer your question, no, Amazon won't pay anything to support employees who need other kinds of medical treatment. And if you are unlucky enough to be in an Amazon warehouse working when a tornado warning is in effect it seems like they won't even let you go home to a safer place.

That’s it. This is about avoiding medical costs and family leave for women that get pregnant.

here is another question..does insurance cover elective abortions? Apparently Obamacare does not.

So why is Amazon covering it?

If the Mayo treatments were considered 'non-life threatening,' they probably would. Travel and living expenses, not medical treatment expenses.

But if you read further the surgery has to not be available within 100 miles. If you live in a city you can usually get any kind cancer surgery that is not experimental. You might not want the surgeon but he is available.

Amazon should make it company policy that employees can abort other employees or bosses if they are annoying. “My job environment, my choice”

An upside to the ruling (if it stands) is that leftists will spend a lot of money on crap like this, and maybe blue state losers will stay in blue states to enjoy their “abortion freedom”.
