Kristi Noem vows immediate action if Roe v Wade leak is true

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s (R) reaction to the SCOTUS leak encapsulated her broader objective to further enforce the Tenth Amendment protections of the Bill of Rights, as she promised, if reports prove true, a special legislative session would follow an overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Late Monday, it was reported that Politico had leaked a draft of a majority opinion from Justice Samuel Alito pertaining to the case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Should the alleged draft end up being the final determination from SCOTUS, it would mean the reversal of the 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade, and states would retain sovereignty in determining laws regarding abortion.

While Democrats reacted to the indeterminate report with calls for immediate action that would essentially alter the balance between the equal branches of government and further erode these American institutions, Noem remained tempered in her optimism and grounded firmly in the Constitution. ….

action that would essentially alter the balance between the equal branches of government

Up to now the balance has been far from equal with the bloated feds getting bigger and more intrusive.

UNLESS...a man wants to play in all-girl sports...and that’s A-OK with Kristi.

Yeah, in our current Age Of Darkness, state's rights will be of paramount importance. We just need some apparatus to deport all these filthy kalifornians back to the sewer they created and leave free states alone. Till then, we're just biding time.

Actually, while initially backtracking a bit last year, in Feb 2022 Noem signed legislation that BANNED trans from participating in sports as their “new” gender.

Your hate of Kristi runs deep. She signed into law stating the opposite of what you speak.

Get over it.

For some here, the hate of Kristi Noem runs deep.

Possibly men who wish they had her as a wife.

Possibly women who wish they had her looks.

Either way, they need to get over it.

Roe v Wade violates the first amendment in the name of the opposite, aka “free choice”

It is the biggest scam and creative use of language to make people believe it supports what it actually opposes.

Abortion is only a vehicle topic of Roe V Wade that twisted the term “privacy” into an action that protected and hid the activities of rapists by destroying the fetal evidence.

These rapists happen strangely to be women and men.

Yes, Congress has abandoned its oversight responsibility. The Executive Branch rules via executive orders. The SCOTUS is more and more hopelessly political and ignorant of the constitution.

She had issues with the first proposed law that came to her desk but has since gotten one through that apparently addressed her concerns and she signed into law: https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-politics-and-policy/south-dakota-governor-signs-2022s-first-trans-athlete-ban-law-rcna14725

Now she gets to craft and sign into law pro-life legislation. She's setting herself up as a successful governor and prospective presidential or vice-presidential candidate--joining Desantis. That gives us Trump, Desantis, and Noem for 2024.

I hate no one.

Not even sure where you got that from. Just making it up, I suppose. Or maybe, that’s what Hypatia taught you?

And no...I don’t have to get over anything just because you say so. LOL

As I recall, she explained this adequately. She didn’t sign the first iteration of the legislation because the language and legal reasoning would not have stood up to court challenges.
