69% of Omicron deaths in recent surge have not been fully vaccinated
Amid the new wave of COVID cases caused by the Omicron variant in Taiwan, 50% of deaths occurred in people who were not vaccinated against the virus.
During a press conference on Tuesday (May 3), Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) head Chen Shih-chung (陳時中) announced 23,102 local COVID cases and five deaths. This was the highest single-day death count since the start of the surge in Omicron cases in April.
Philip Lo (羅一鈞), deputy head of the CECC’s medical response division, said that none of the five COVID cases who died that day had been vaccinated. He said that of the 23 most recent deaths that have occurred this year, 12 were unvaccinated, representing 52% of deaths from the variant.
In addition, four cases, or 17%, had only received one dose. Five cases had received two jabs, equating to 22% of the deaths.
In total, 16, or 69%, had not been vaccinated at all or only received one dose. Only two people, or 9% of recent deaths, had received all three COVID vaccine doses.
Lo called on the public, particularly senior citizens, to be sure to get vaccinated as soon as possible to reduce the risk of severe symptoms and death.
What were the other 50% status? I wonder.

Wait a minute. You weren’t supposed to figure that out so soon. They’ll tell you the ingredients and results in 75 years. meanwhile the lawsuit immunity protects the profits.
My guess is; 15 had received one dose. Maybe 16.

Logic escapes the mainstream thinking. Half were vaxxed, half were not, rendering the results meaningless. But... how many deaths were caused by the vax!
And, of the deaths for heart attacks and other issues, how many were vaxed? How many were in some unexpected demographic, like twenty-year-old athletes?
Taiwan, like the mainland, has relied on lockdowns and the vaccine to fight Covid, resulting in nearly zero herd immunity.
The vax does not provide ANY long term immunity, and lockdowns merely stop immune systems from meeting any threats.

Please tell me you know enough math to understand why you are wrong, and you are just joking.
Taiwan is 80% vaccinated. 50% of the deaths come from just the 20% unvaccinated population.
Do that math and you will see that unvaccinated people are dying at 4x the rate of vaccinated. Ergo, the vaccine is effective at preventing death. Make sense?
Who cares? It’s flu season. Why aren’t there numbers on the flu? Oh wait… Covid numbers ARE flu numbers. Anyway, no one here lives in Taiwan..

From wiki, about 80% of Taiwanese are fully vaccinated. An even greater percentage has had one shot.
So, back of the envelope (please check my math), an unvaccinated Taiwanese has a 75% greater probability of dying from Omicron compared with a fully vaccinated person.
These are minuscule death rates, vaccinated or unvaccinated.
