the supreme court releases its decisions in May and June... this is the beginning of May. Big deal if the decision was leaked a few weeks early. It wont affect the midterms in November any differently, than if it were released in 2 to 3 weeks formally.
Either we can defend the ground we have won here or we can’t. I feel confident that this will not affect anything here in Texas this November.
All I have ever wanted in regards to Roe was it to be thrown out as a made up “constitutional right” that can’t be limited except by a constitutional amendment. I am 100% ok with us fighting this out in state houses across the land to determine what people are comfortable with.
When I saw that name, I had to retreat and read it again.
I thought it had swerved into comedy.

The question is did the left leak it to stir up the faithful, or did tne right leak it so the public outcry would burn itself out well before the election?
Alito was writing the majority opinion, which means it was 5-4 for overturning it. Maybe the “first draft” only refers to the paper he was writing. I think the vote has already been taken and after that they write their majority and minority opinions.
Roberts can solve this easily. He brings all the clerks and staff into the main courtroom and says “All phones turned off. Nobody is leaving this room until the leaker comes forward. No food. No bathroom breaks.”
Then you just wait the leaker out.
“The work of the Court will not be affected in any way.”
Except for the investigation?
If they actually overturn R vs.W, then we can overturn the NFA....

I hope that Alito learned something from Trump and made subtle changes to each copy distributed to the other judges. That would allow us to figure out which office it came from.
In the discussion yesterday...someone mentioned that security is so tight at the Supremes offices that these "typo changes" are done as a routine manner on all documents circulated.
If Roberts tries to whitewash this investigation of a criminal act, he’s certainly opening himself up to impeachment by a future Congress.

If a cabal of Dems and Repubs can conspire to rig a presidential election, they can certainly leak a ‘draft’ document from the Supreme Court as well.
