So which is it? Crazy Nancy said in July, '2021 that sleepy Joe has ZERO executive power to authorize cancelling student loan debt. But apparently Brandon has already cancelled $17 Billion in student loan debt.

Obama did a lot of things he said he couldn’t legally do too. For Democrats, they will do anything they’re not stopped from doing. They only believe in the rule of law when it supports their objectives, like killing babies. Duplicity is their stock in trade.

If speculations about Pelosi's plan to oust Harris after Biden is ousted, then I suspect she'll want to wait and cancel student loan debt herself so as to curry (is that racist? Can I say that? Maybe I'll post it on Twitter and see if I get banned...) favor with her constituents.

According to what I read there is a specific law that states an act of congress is required to authorize spending taxpayer money. In this case paying off Sallie Mae etc with taxpayer money. It would have to be a H.R. Bill and go through the House and be voted on by the Senate and signed into law.

If you watched how the Democrats operate over any length of time. You will know that when the Democrats get ready to do do something. They do it. Law or no law. Both the Republican Party and the watchdog media remain mute. Laws mean nothing to a Democrat. Unless they serve their purpose. And their purpose is? The total and complete destruction of the United States of America.

Well, Nancy Pelosi doesn’t have the power to execute US foreign policy but we just saw her and Chuck Schumer do it in Ukraine. When you have a dictatorship, you can do anything. The Democrats are showing us how a dictatorship works

I don’t think he does. All budgetary items are mandated to originate through the House of Representatives, period. Congress has bastardized this requirement sometimes by letting the Senate propose budgetary items but in the end it all has to be reconciled by the House with an aye vote in House/Senate conference.

Crazy Nancy said in July, '2021 that sleepy Joe has ZERO executive power to authorize cancelling student loan debt. I think she meant that TRUMP would have ZERO power to cancel; I'm sure she'll support King Branden when the time comes.

"Who is going to stop him?" I suspect the banks that actually hold the loans and will lose the money just might take it to court. If so...who knows how it will go...

These are “direct” student loans. Since 2010 almost all federal student loans are actually loans issued directly by the federal government. There is no bank involved that can sue. Because of this, the Dems might also try to make a case that there is no budgetary concern because there is no “spending” per say, only forgiveness of a debt.

So if he could cancel student debt why stop there? How about cancelling all medical debts for cancer patients - they didn’t ask to get cancer. Or how about cancelling the debt that truck drivers have on buying their trucks so they can earn a living - especially with fuel prices as they are.

The one who is owed money has the right to cancel the debt. NO one else. The government does not have the right to cancel the obligation to pay a debt.
He obviously means that he will take money from the productive people and use it to pay these debts. Government has the power, but not the right to do this.
