Ukrainian troops will beat their Russian counterparts and the country will "be free" from occupation, Boris Johnson has told Ukraine's parliament - adding that it is a fight of "good versus evil".
The UK prime minister, who has become the first world leader to address Ukrainian MPs since Russia invaded in late February, said Ukraine had proven military experts "completely wrong".
In a recorded address, he also told the Verkhovna Rada that the "so-called irresistible force of Putin's war machine has broken on the immoveable object of Ukrainian patriotism".
The war has exposed Putin's "historic folly" - the "gigantic error that only an autocrat can make", Mr Johnson said.
"When a leader rules by fear, rigs elections, jails critics, gags the media, and listens just to sycophants - when there is no limit on his power - that is when he makes catastrophic mistakes," the PM commented.

That fact is you can’t conquer a people who refuse to capitulate.
You either kill them all or they eventually win. It’s that simple. Russia will lose, because the Ukrainians demand their freedom and will accept nothing less. You can’t give a county it’s freedom and you can’t win it for them. In the end, they have to want it bad enough themselves to do what is necessary to achieve it, and Ukraine wants it bad enough.

All kind of nations are missing there, not just Ukraine, but Poland, Czechia, Finland, Lithuania etc.
Germany, Russia, Turkey and Austria were ruling over a lot of people that were not happy of being ruled. E.g. parts of France and Denmark were in Germany.
