JUST IN - U.S. Supreme Court has voted to strike down Roe vs. Wade, an initial draft majority opinion by Justice Alito shows.
I think the subversive motive makes it more likely for the intelligence community to have been the source of the leak.

No one leaks from the Supreme Court discussions. If they do, their name will be mud for the remainder of their legal career.
Historically, it has happened before in a very high profile case. In the famous Dred Scott case, Justice Curtis gave his dissenting opinion to a publisher, and it was published, before the official Opinion of the Court was drafted or issued. The writing of the Opinion of the Court had been assigned to Justice Nelson whose opinion reads like an Opinion of the Majority, but which became his short concurring opinion. In response to what Justice Curtis did, Chief Justice Taney reassigned writing of the Opinion of the Court to himself for the purpose of responding to all the matter brought up by Justice Curtis in his dissent. After the session, Justice Curtis and the Chief Justice engaged in an acrimonious exchange of correspondence. Justice Nelson, then the youngest justice on the Court resigned from the Court.
This is good news - it is one step in the right direction.
But I predict this will not prevent riots from
starting. Many people WILL object and go mad.
To me, it sounds like it is a draft, which could be voted
either way. If it is a draft, it should not have been
released. It was leaked. Unless it was deliberately “leaked”
to see how the public responds.
Also, Roe vs. Wade allowed abortion in only the first
trimester, but I think there were many illegal abortions
done much later. What’s going to prevent abortions from
happening, even if the Roe vs. Wade is overturned?
“They each are allowed four clerks. The Chief Justice is allowed five, but Roberts usually only hires four. However, there must be lower level employees such as secretaries, administrators, tech people, etc. Could any of them have access to draft decisions?”

Very unlikely anyone other than the justices and their clerks have access to the working opinion papers. Each Justice may have a staff attorney that would know, but they are just as highly vetted and normally even more trustworthy than the clerks. I just can’t stress enough how highly sought after these positions are and the vetting process each student goes through before their law school will even recommend them. Sotomayor and her clerks would be the weak link since she rules on emotions only and I suspect her clerks do as well.

Yes, and it that situation, heads did roll, and there has not been another leak such as this since that time. Boundaries were tightened and the vetting process became more intense. And that one example has been used since then as to the turmoil that can be caused plus repercussions for leaking.
I guess I should have said “In modern times”...no one leaks.....

My working theory is that it wasn’t anyone that works at the Supreme Court but rather the deep state intelligence community for reasons other than just Roe vs Wade.
To destabilize SCOTUS with distrust.
To cause national discord and unrest prior to the May and June primaries in the various states.
To swamp the news cycle and obscure the release of 2000Mules, about how the election was stolen and how True the Vote has proven the cheat with geo-tracking data and security camera footage.
When political operatives lacking morals and patriotism get SCOTUS positions rather than serious legal scholars with character.

Justice Breyer is still on the Court until the end of the session. The Draft Opinion distributed on Feb 10th indicates the vote was taken then or before. There were (and still are) nine justices available. Judge Jackson was approved to be appointed to succeed Justice Breyer after he retires.
You have a point. If the deep state can (and will) spy on a President, they can(and will) certainly spy on the Supreme Court justices.

I think if it was the Deep State the destabilization of the SC would be the primary motive.
DC is always a fight over power—and the SC still has a lot of it—and a lot of folks inside the Beltway don’t like that and would be willing to do something about it.
There may be other issues before the Court that affect Deep State interests but are not in the headlines—they may be what this is really all about...
Roe v Wade could just be camouflage to keep the unwashed masses dazed and confused...

It was Justice Curtis who had his dissenting opinion published who resigned.

Actually men have a great deal of pressure they put on women when they don’t want that hindrance to their pleasure.
Don’t say they don’t. Yes, they don’t have legal standing, but they DO and HAVE managed to get their way over wavering scared females.

You would like to shift the blame onto men, as that is your natural inclination. Fact is that is not why the vast majority of abortions occur.
Also consider women trying to trap men and their resources by faking pregnancy, or deliberately not taking birth control but telling the men they are. Never hear women saying that is wrong.
Women are always victims, women good, men bad. Extremely predictable and trite.

Law schools are going to have to revamp their Ethics classes to add in this case and reiterate the requirements for confidentiality NO MATTER the legal work an attorney is doing (unless in the case of criminal actions).
