Yes....Just ask Victoria Nuland.
You only have to look at how quickly and smoothly the Ukrainian woman and children were escorted out of the country into welcoming countries, with barely a hitch.... and all men were required to stay and fight, to recognize this entire war was already planned and positioned long before Russia entered Ukraine.
Those war games were about Russia being invaded which is not the case here.
The very fact that there is still fighting suggests the invasion isn’t going well
No we have not. This is a neocon war that the American people want no part of. We had enough of these useless neocon wars.
I really do miss Bagdad Bob!
Correction;
9 weeks already and “mighty Russia” can’t even conquer an area the size of Maine, that borders their country!
Okay, this is really funny. Ukraine now has 105 more tanks than at the start of the conflict due to Russian losses!
How is everything in the disinformation campaign going in Russia since it seems that is what u are doing.
Err.. Putin, isn’t your invasion a foreign intervention?
What is proves is that there is a legitimate amount of mass programming (psychosis might be the better word) going around and most folks are gov’t run zombies toeing the line.
When the power grid dries up these 300 pound arm chair gorillas will start to cry.
Gotcha. My post was just “nerdery”, not a statement on the war.
In Putin's mind, no. And that is the problem. Putin, like many other Russians, does not recognize Ukraine as a legitimate independent country. Being, in his mind, a part of Russia, he thinks that he has every right to intervene. Unfortunately for him, the Ukrainians disagree.
Actually, Canada is an exporter of oil to the U.S.
If you're interested in those types of statistics, they can be found from the link below, even on a weekly basis:
The posture of the US from the start of this has been openly belligerent. never seen anything like it in my lifetime.
***Sounds like you have had a short life. We were openly belligerent to the last tyrant who invaded his neighbor over oil fields and we formed a similar coalition of countries that kicked him back to Iraq.
not a single peep about talks. we apparently don’t even talk to russia anymore?!
***It is Russia who has been refusing to talk.
we immediately steal a third of a trillion dollars they had in reserves in the US and western banks. i know, it is frozen, but that can last decades or longer, or be spent by third parties (ukraine) down the road.
***Very nonviolent. To be expected when you invade another sovereign country to get at their oil reserves.
we were running their air defences from day 1, based on the nbc article.
***Link please.
I would be[t] money we were integral in sinking the moskva and the attacks on facilities inside russia.
***And perhaps someone else would bet money on the contrary position. I like to bet over at predictit.org but there are no contracts to bet on regarding this stuff.
no opinion on the gazprom families that were killed, but if they were aligned with russia politically still...
***Again, the kind of activity one should expect when a country invades its neighbor over oil & gas reserves.
we are escalating, bragging about it, and pushing them into a corner.
***Uhh, that corner would be Russia. They are being pushed out of Ukraine.
this isn’t the kennedy team that managed to avoid nuclear war in the cuban missile crisis (though apparently that was still a heartbeat away, based on the russian sub incident).
***The Kennedy team had hundreds more nuke missiles than the soviets did, and they leveraged that. We today have hundreds less nuke missiles, mostly because we don’t have tactical nukes but the Russians do. There is still MAD in place.
these jokers in washington now could not be less qualified,
and may actually not care what happens to the US overall.
***I think they care, they’re just stupid. They project weakness by trying to act all woke.
I think this is intended to get much worse.
***Nope. Team Biden simply did not think that Russia really would invade. Caught by surprise, like team Bush was by Saddam. This is intended to drive the invader home like the last time a country invaded over oil & gas rights.
it can also solve the pesky election problem in november if it gets really bad.
***There’s probably sumthin to that. But look at Bush1, with 92% approval rating right after GulfWar1. It didn’t help him in his re-election. Biden is exhibiting similar attitudes towards the little people.
there was a post, I want to say within day or maybe a week of the invasion starting, of a freeper saying they had seen a multi-mile military train heading east. something they had never seen before.
I suspect that is some of the equipment finally being discussed now.
You skirted answering my question with semantics and a link...
Guess you didn’t like the answer.
“ West has decided that it is willing to pay the bill.”
“No we have not.”
Western Governments have, with a majority of public support for arming the Ukraine. About 75% in the USA.
There was a sea change after the Russians withdrew from around Kiev, and the widespread atrocities that they were conducting came to light.
Now the heavy weapons are flowing by the ship load, from over 40 Countries, and a new Lend Lease Act to support the Ukraine in this war passed the US Senate 100-0.
The West collectively, has decided to pay the cost.
Clicking on that link will allow you to see that for last week, the top sources of crude imported into the U.S. were Canada, KSA, and Mexico (Table 8).
