In the immediate aftermath of January 6, 2021, investigators observed a phenomenon: police officers who responded to the day's violence at the Capitol could not always remember the assaults they suffered at the hands of a pro-Trump mob.
But as he reviewed hours of body-worn camera footage, Metropolitan Police Detective Jonathan Lauderdale could see everything — the shouts, the shoves, the punches, the profanity.
"Reviewing that over and over again was traumatic," Lauderdale said Tuesday, recalling the "complete chaos" of January 6, 2021, at the latest jury trial connected to the Capitol siege.

I think the police knew what the prosecutors wanted them to say, but that the horror stories simply hadn’t happened. Much of it was the normal scuffling that would happen any time the police try to move back a large crowd. In fact one of the demonstrators who died that day died because she fell and had other people fall on her when they were pushing the crowd back.
I honestly don’t think that the Capitol police were the bad guys, and I don’t think they were luring people into the building to set them up…perhaps their bosses had other ideas, though. I think the cops rightly thought that these people just wanted to walk in and see the building and say that they had made their statement .
However, what was going on at the top…between the head honchos, Nancy Pelosi, and the FBI…was a whole different matter.
So I think the officers being questioned feel they have to walk a fine line. They don’t want to lie and unfairly condemn people, but they want to keep their jobs.

It certainly wasn’t everyone. And the crowd at the Capitol was separate from the much larger crowd at the rally.
However, it’s foolish to pretend that the video isn’t there that implicates at least some members of the crowd.
It was worse than the Holocaust! Or so Democrats say.
I was assaulted back in 62 . Baseball bat assault . I still remember running down the railroad track blind after the bat exploded my sinuses and blinded me . Laying in the shrubs in front of the Wesleyan Methodist Church for 4 hours before my sight came back . You don’t forget an assault . It been 60 years and I can testify every second . I call bullshit !
Show us the video or it’s all lies.

And compared to the Antifa/BLM weeklong riots with industrial lasers, fireworks and a couple dozen deaths….Jan 6 was a walk in the park.

If you start from 2012, there must be around 300 riots of record existing. If all the police involved in these were suffering PTSD and retired out, there must be at least 100,000 new and fresh policemen existing today.

yeah. i can’t remember any of the times i was assaulted in my life. thankfully, all the attacks by the police on peaceful protesters are on tape, if we could just get the tape.

This is the type of trailer park bravado and rambling that makes me question how we got here. This isn’t conservativism. This is the mindset of clowns who used to be on the left.The video speaks for itself. The liars are those who keep making claims that:
1. no such video exists (it does)
2. that everyone who went into the Capitol were let in and acted orderly once inside (some were, many weren’t)
3. That there was absolutely zero violence (the much larger rally was peaceful and the majority of the people who walked to the Capitol were as well, but some people did commit violence and officers were assaulted).
I’m tired of supposed conservatives, the side that is supposed to adopt traditional Christian values, hold integrity, and value truth and virtue, adopt blatant lies and conspiracy theories because they want to feel good about themselves on social media.
