IN GENTLENESS THERE IS STRENGTH
The parents were devastated. Their young adopted daughter had died in an unusual accident. She suffocated when the drawstring on the hood of her jacket became caught in a playground slide. It was later learned their child was not the first to die this way. Design flaws in both the hood and the slide made this an accident waiting to happen. Some people might have viewed this tragedy as an opportunity to sue the two major corporations for a lucrative settlement. The parents, however, refused. In an interview, the mother said she would have seen any remuneration as "blood money". She and her husband believed the leaders of the two companies never intended to harm her child or any other child. Instead of a lawsuit, the parents appealed to the clothing and slide manufacturers to correct the design flaws which had led to the death of their daughter. Both companies took immediate action. Today the parents are leaders in a campaign to promote child safety, and the companies involved have contributed substantially toward their cause. It is not always wrong to sue. There are times when it is the prudent thing to do. It seems, however, that our society has become increasingly litigious, suing without discretion for profit and personal gain. In light of today’s litigious climate, one cannot help but be moved by the choice of these parents not to sue. Instead they chose a "higher ground", earning not only the willing cooperation of both companies, but strong allies in their campaign to promote child safety as well. We might say they took the "pure, peaceable and gentle way" described in the third chapter of James in the Christian scriptures (James 3:17) as opposed to the adversarial way offered them via the courts. An ancient Native American saying reads, "In gentleness there is great strength". Dag Hammarskjold, former Secretary General to the United Nations and recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, put it this way, "Nothing is so strong as gentleness, and nothing so gentle as true strength". In the end, the gentle, peaceable way of these parents demonstrated the greater strength and wisdom. CAPT Jane F. Vieira, CHC, USN

Feeling Dusty
He remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:14
When Warren mentioned during our weekly ministry team call that he was “feeling dusty,” I sensed that this was his way of referencing the physical challenges associated with aging and ill-health. For Warren and his wife, both in their late sixties, 2020 included doctors’ visits, surgical procedures, and the rearranging of their home to accommodate in-home care. They were on the other side of the prime of life and they were feeling it.
One doesn’t have to live long before sensing our inadequacies, imperfections, and weaknesses—physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. God, in the person of His Son, Jesus, stepped into our fallen world and cares for those who experience the liabilities of human existence (Psalm 103:13). Furthermore, David wrote, “He knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust” (v. 14). The term dust takes us back to Genesis: “Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being” (2:7).
Are you feeling dusty these days? Welcome to the realities of earthly living. Remember, however, that when we feel most vulnerable, we’re not left alone. Our compassionate God “knows” and “remembers.” He demonstrated His love to us by sending His Son to provide forgiveness for earthly people like you and me. Whatever life may bring, may we trust in Him. — Arthur Jackson
What situations make you aware of your human limitations? How have you seen the hand of God in the midst of your weaknesses?
Father, though in various ways I feel my limitations—my dustiness—help me to be strong in faith and trust You.

Christos Anesti (Χριστός Ανέστη) – Greeks greet each other with this starting after midnight on Easter Sunday. This phrase means, “Christ is Risen.”
Alithos Anesti (Aληθώς ανέστη!) – This is the response to the phrase, Christos Anesti. It means, “Truly, He is Risen.” You only say this to someone who has just said, “Christos Anesti” to you.

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Howdy, Kathy.
I’m still awake but not on my feet. My hiney’s been parked 90+% since I got home this evening. LOL
I somehow retained most of what he showed us yesterday morning. Most of the things were additions to displays we’ve had. I did play the video clips last night to go over it all again while I was more awake. :-)
Did a few tours today.
We’re all happy to be back in the swing of things again.
Did you have a reasonably relaxing day? I know “relax” isn’t a strong word in your vocabulary. LOL
