Twitter announced on Earth Day that decided to remove any ads on the platform that contain so-called “misinformation” about climate change.

The Washington Post reported that the platform said the removed ads “contradict the scientific consensus on climate change.”

"We recognize that misleading information about climate change can undermine efforts to protect the planet," Twitter said of the decision. "In the coming months, we’ll have more to share on our work to add reliable, authoritative context to the climate conversations happening on Twitter."

The new policy only applies to monetized ads.

Twitter is not the only social media platform to take action against climate change “deniers.”

Pinterest announced earlier in the month that it would remove content and ads that contained “misinformation” about climate change. Sarah Bromma, Pinterest’s Head of Policy, said of the decision:

Awwww. Too bad since nearly EVERYTHING out there about alleged climate change is total BS. Especially the cabal of 'scientists' that are pushing this crap. Again, just WHO is the head decider on what is and isn't mis/dis/mal-information anyway? Same fact checkers from fakebook? Hey scientist/climageddonists. Answer the following and get back to us. We'll wait:

1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.

2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.

3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet.

4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.

5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.

6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.

7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.

How will Twitter know what is or is not “disnformation”?

How will Twitter know what is or is not “disinformation”?

A panel of Gender Studies, Journalism, and Communications majors will decide what correct science is. Experts. TOP people...

And for the author - the correct neologism is "Climate Denier". It's as phony as "whiteness", "toxic masculinity", or any of the left's other buzzwords.

If they were honest, any prediction that did not come true would have all posts relating to it removed. We all know that is not going to happen. It they did, the IPCC, every media outlet amd most elected officials would be banned. It’s more likely that the person pointing out a prediction not coming true would be banned.

Should I add my comment on that one too? I mean it is a different source. Besides, posting a similar article helps cause more power grid use than if only one were posted. It is ‘erf day’ after all. LOL! Maybe you and I should become mods for FR?

I would challenge any of these Twitter "climate experts" to solve a simple first order linear differential equation—very basic stuff, sophomore stuff.

Any one of these "climate experts" who can not do that, has no business discussing the climate, and no scientific standing.

If you want to start a mass movement, you need an enemy. The enemy must be big enough that it can’t be defeated, yet small enough that you can imagine defeating it. Communists had the bourgeoisie, Nazis had Jewish people, Pol Pot had intellectuals, churches have heretics and witches. Iranian regime uses the United States, the Great Satan, as its enemy, big enough to never be defeated, but small enough to imagine it being defeated. Democrats have Republicans, and Progressives have Climate Change.

The origins of climate change are not understood, and include natural causes as well as potentially man made sources, so it really can never be defeated. At the same time, climate change is small enough that you can imagine it being defeated if you cut enough carbon dioxide emissions.

Over time, mass movements lose their impetus. It is important to continually refocus the minds of the masses on the enemy. If people lose interest or figure out that the enemy is never going to be defeated, the movement fails. Social media and news organizations are the way the enemy is identified and attention is focused. Any diversion of that focus risks ending the movement, and thus control is lost.

Trust the science was never about CoVid because the science data was ignored. Trust the Science was a set up for Climate Change is my guess.

There are no answers to those questions, so they will remove whatever they want.
All the more reason to root for Elon Musk.

“contradict the scientific consensus on climate change.”

the history of science is nothing more nor less than the repeated destruction of the “scientific consensus” ...

but we wouldn’t expect any of the ignorant morons that run twitter to know anything about either history OR science ...

perhaps they should read “The Structure of Scientific Revolutions” by Thomas Kuhn ...
