Russia's ailing command: 'Bloated and slouching' Putin is seen gripping a table amid cancer battle rumours as he meets 'slurring' defence minister Shoigu - who needs to read from notes 'following heart attack'

Vladimir Putin was seen gripping a table whilst slouching in chair during meeting Putin claimed in meeting with Sergei Shoigu that Mariupol 'liberated' by Russia

Shoigu does not appear to have fared better in war, with defence minister seen slurring his words and reading from a script

A bloated Vladimir Putin has been seen gripping a table whilst slouching in his chair during a televised meeting with his defence minister amid rumours the Russian strongman is battling cancer.

In a rare live appearance, Putin claimed Russia had 'liberated' the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupol, as he savagely ordered Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu to seal off all routes out of the Azovstal steelworks where defiant Ukrainians are holed up 'so that even a fly cannot pass through'.

But Putin's poor posture and his apparently bloated face and neck sparked speculation about the Russian leader's health, which has reportedly been in decline since his invasion of Ukraine.

Video showed Putin speaking to Shoigu whilst gripping the edge of the table with his right hand - so hard that it appears white - and tapping his foot consistently.

Shoigu does not appear to have fared any better in the eight weeks since Russia invaded Ukraine, with the defence minister slurring his words and reading from his notes following an apparent heart attack.

You should hope that he lives.
If he dies, his replacement will have to prove his strength and will.
That bodes ill for everyone.

Yes, we are all aware Putin is unwell. Good reason to make a deal and sit back and wait for Putin to die. It would save many lives.

This same thing has been posted many times here in the last couple of days.

No, Tanks Are Not Obsolete — The Russian Army is Just Bad at Combined Arms
BY WES O’DONNELL 04/01/2022

n contrast, the Russians appear to be deploying tanks just for the sake of the psychological impact that such war machines provide. Except the Ukrainians no longer fear a T-90 rolling down the street toward them, they see it as a juicy target of opportunity.

The real reason Russia is losing this war is that they have no strategy, no tactics, and no support. Tanks are tough, but they’re not invincible.

So, what could the Russians do differently to ensure the survivability of their tanks?

Let’s start with an infantry screen that deploys ahead of the armor and clears out hidden combatants armed with Javelins. They could also throw in rotor wing (attack helicopter) support.

But all of this requires command, control, and coordination. Fortunately for the Ukrainians, the Russian army has displayed none of this. Quite the opposite: the Russian army is borderline incompetent. The problem is that when they can’t successfully kill Ukrainian soldiers, they take their rage out on civilians.

Investigating how the Russian army arrived at its current poor state, from the glory days of the formidable Soviet Red Army, is a topic for another article. Is it possible that Putin was [GASP] lied to by his closest advisors about the strength of his army? Is it possible that his cronies funneled money meant for the military to their own bank accounts?

For now, perhaps it is enough to be thankful that after decades of bluster and propaganda, Putin’s army has turned out to be a mismanaged, poorly fed, poorly equipped, poorly maintained disaster of the highest order.

There is still very much a place for tanks in modern warfare if you have an army proficient at combined arms operations.

The Russians are certainly smart enough to employ combined arms and joint warfare, and they have the technological capability to do so. Yet, for reasons unknown they choose not to, much to the benefit of the Ukrainian defenders.

As a result, the Russian army in Ukraine is fighting a modern-day war with mid-20th century tactics.

I can see why Putin always sits at one end of a 20’ desk. He doesn’t want another “Valkyrie” incident.

He keeps firing and/or ‘disappearing’ his top officers, he may find that he may need a food taster...

It looks like someone shoved his chair to close to the table and he's uncomfortable and tired. I don't see "gripping"...Tapping his foot is an OLD habit.

Might be one of those "things to do" while you're speaking.

Any "sick" speculation from this pic is just that.

——Russian strongman is battling cancer.-—

I saw a very detailed video describing Putin’s cancer. He is said to be suffering from thyroid cancer for some time now. He has a team of several doctors that travel with him. The thyroid condition seems to be more than just a rumor and it is not just since the invasion

I don’t remember the source of the video but it probably a German site

His whole legacy has been destroyed in just a few months and he knows it and he also knows there is absolutely nothing he can do about it in the short time he has on planet earth. I’m surprised he hasn’t just blown his brains out, ending the internal pain.

Fact: Russian longevity for males is 68.2 years

Putin is about to turn 70 and is living beyond his expiry date

Poor circulation (skin pallor), hair loss, loss of balance, using the table to steady his upper body and maintain posture, cadenced discussions (confusion) etc.

IMO, he’s had Covid and has multiple organ damage from it including brain damage.

Would explain his seemingly irrational, precipitous decisions.

Pooty Poot has lots more than thyroid cancer. There are Parkinson's rumors. His hands shake, so he is gripping the table. He probably has other cancers too. Pooty looks very low energy in the above photo. He has the look of a doomed man. Doomed by his diseases. Dead, the sooner the better.

Or out of commission, living in a hospital bed. Same as his idol Yuri Andropov, who lived this way for ten months before he croaked. Andropov was a Russian premier in the early 1980s, who also came from the KGB.

I am not pro Russian

However, there were two fronts. I have not seen the destruction of Russian troops on the eastern front as happened on the northern front.

That is, the northern troops were second string and the eastern troops first string. I think we will see if that is true by next week sometime

Parkinson's is why he is gripping the table. Holding on for dear life. Pooty is similar to our Joe. He has his good days when he can function. Then bad days when he definitely stays out of public view. Supposedly the Russian people still approve of Pooty. So this photo is to gain Pooty some public sympathy. As in, "The great Russian army is having a tough time in Ukraine. But look at me, the invincible Vladimir Putin, I am having a tough time too".

The sinking of Moskva gave him a stroke. Hopefully. This hurts his health and makes his brain less functional. Vlad looks horrible, awful and depressed.

Depending on which type of cancer.

Mine was surgery, overnight in the hospital, out the next morning.

I insisted on chemo. ONE radioiodine pill, one time. Instructions not to let children or women of childbearing years sit on my lap for a week, which unfortunately was no change in my routine. *sigh*

Squeeky voice for a couple months while some nerves recovered from having the cancer scraped off.

No discernible scar. Annual ultrasound, daily very cheap thyroid supplement.

6 years cancer free.
