Fauci's Complaints on 'Dangerous Precedent' of Mask Mandate Ruling Exposes a Disturbing Sense of Entitlement

In multiple interviews, Dr. Anthony Fauci has weighed in on the Monday ruling from United States District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, which struck down the travel mask mandate. President Joe Biden's Department of Justice (DOJ) has decided to appeal Judge Mizelle's ruling. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has also told the DOJ to reinstate the mandate.

Speaking with CBS News' Robert Costa, Dr. Fauci lamented that a judge would dare to rule on the mask mandate as it applied to the CDC overstepping its authority, including when it comes to the Administrative Procedure Act (APA). Costa had asked Fauci "does the CDC, with all respect, have any power anymore if one judge can say 'no thanks' to its mandates," expressing a rather narrow-minded oversimplification of the issue.

Fauci emphasized that they were "worried," as he noted "we're worried about a precedent that would be a dangerous precedent. The CDC has the capability, through a large number of trained epidemiologists and scientists, to be able to make projections and make recommendations. Far more than a judge with no experience in public health," Fauci claimed.

Anyone with Excel can build a regression line.

Accuracy, replicability, following the rules of statistics, and honesty are also part of that process.

Far more than the CDC.

The CDC to now too “woke” to be able to comprehend what a real science article is.

There is a boat load of published research on the ineffectiveness of mask mandates, cloth masks, and medical masks, and even mixed results on N95 masks.

As far as the evidence for masking, there have been a lot of very bad “studies” that offered no control group or any comparison group at all that have been published during Covid to try to “prove” masks work (Not to mention all the mechanistic studies performed in a lab with mannequins).

This is one of the most despicable men of our times. A man of infinite lies and no conscience. The damage he has done is incalculable.

What a joke....They quarantined well people...then discovered....like common sense...(via Cuomo), they were stunned that 70% of new cases were among people who were locked up. Not a damn thing to do with masks.

But lets go back...they said 6 ft. apart...no mask...I still have the official picture in our apartment hallway.

Then it was all about killing those little bas**** germs...and Clorox and Lysol and alcohol was the way to go.

BUT the best way was to get out in the sunshine and fresh air.

All common sense...and through all this....and no matter what they did, the survival rate NEVER changed.

Hospitals were loaded because they only have a few ICU units in a hospital.

As we keep on going and look back....I don't think they did anything right.

Vaccines?? How many shots will it take.

All you have to do is compare the results of the 11 states that never had a mask mandate vs the 39 states that had mask mandates. It's the perfect real-world federalist laboratory. The 11 states are essentially the control group.

That graph, although likely true is just a correlation (observation study). The CDC themselves published study after study that was a correlation ...Ex masks used by 3 hairdressers with COVID in Spring 2020 showed they did not pass it on to 123 customers. Correlations goes in the weak science bin. I could draw a correlation with eating potatoes and the murder rate in New York.

Fauci, you nor ANYONE at the CDC was voted into your position. You didn’t even have to get Congressional approval for your job.

So in my most polite voice, take a hike!

The administrative state has revealed how completely political they are, and how much they have politicized science.

The foundation of the Progressive philosophy: Rule by "experts" who know so much more than the common man, is revealed as the tyranny it always was.

Scientists should RECOMMEND policy to elected officials to decide upon. Nothing more.

In the end, public policy is a POLITICAL decision and should be set by persons accountable to The People, not by sanctified bureaucrats.

The CDC asked the DOJ to reinstate the mask mandate?

What?? By what authority can the DOJ mandate what Americans can wear?

Can I request the IRS to mandate all cars become manual transmission?

They can make recommendations to wear a mask, however, the judge made it clear they have no authority to mandate it. If they want that authority, then pass legislation to give them that. We know the won’t as that would be political suicide.

I was in FL for muy winter surge in Dec 2021 for a week. About half the time they had lower rates than CT. The other days they were whithin maybe 1-2% of each other.

Packed bars and restaurants, concerts and other events all packed to capacity and no plies of dead bodies or overwhelmed hospitals.
