So just 15 minutes before the debate started, Zelensky was live talking to the debate presenters for the Macron-Le Pen debate and Zelensky said that the French voters should not vote for Le Pen and should vote for Macron instead, while the presenters were nodding in affirmation. You can watch the debate live here, though I don't see the option to go back, but I grabbed a screenshot while he was talking

That could backfire. Inviting the head of a foreign state to come in and pitch for one candidate over another usually makes voters angry over foreign influence. That’s why it’s normally not done.
