The program will allow Harvard researchers to “better understand and address the causes and consequences of wealth inequalities in different populations around the world,” the Kennedy School stated in a news release.

When I was a kid, we didn’t “distribute wealth”. People had to work for it.

They should start by interrogating James and Cathleen on how they got their money! ;)

Gee, kind of hearing about someone like Hitler or Stalin or Xi donating money to study ways to increase tolerance and diversity of races and political opinions.

Same here.

Went to a one room school. Then SMALL high school.

All siblings in our family were SELF- employed.

One had 65 employees when he retired.

Much of today’s attitudes are the direct result of “Participation trophies”, IMO.

Tomorrow, The Bee will have the same story, but better.

Foundation gives bunch of wealthy, entitled shits $5 million in order to study strange, puzzling phenomenon known as "poverty"

Effete experts explain that "poverty" is an intriguing phenomenon, almost as interesting and elusive as "Dark matter." Research center will be based in Monaco

Seems like you could get the same results on this study...if you spent $5-million or $5.00.

I am confused.
A “university” with billions in their funding store really needs an additional five million to study “inequality”? They never thought of doing it on their own. Uh-huh.

No wonder the “ivy league” is rapidly becoming “moldy league”. I will still give credit to their STEM departments, but the rest? Not worth ****.

I agree. Freeloaderism is big in this country these days. America! The Big Pinata! Give it a whack!

James (Jim) started out in a well to do upper middleclass family. Father an attorney and his mother an editor at Seventeen Mag. Went to good schools and did well and then was APPOINTED by Ducacus to be Insurance Commissioner in Mass when he was a young man. Then, after playing the leftists games politically, he was APPOINTED by Carter to be CHAIRMAN of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission after which forty years ago he started his own insurance group, Plymouth Assurance and made his pile of money. His wife is a well connected leftist environmental lawyer bouncing from APPOINTMENT to practice on her way up the leftist chain.

They have give these grants of similar size to a number of stools to chum up the waters for a climate for confiscatory wealth tax laws by leftists, IMHO.

Foundation gives Harvard $5 million to study ‘wealth inequality’

Well, great. Sounds like they solved 'wealth inequality' for a couple of foundation recipients.

Harvard’s Endowment value is $53.2 BILLION DOLLARS. This money is just graft in somebody’s pocket to come up with a pre-ordained, pre-determined result the ‘sponsors’ can attach to the Harvard name and steal untold billions from the taxpayers of this country.

Harvard is loaded with money. Why aren’t they giving it away? Such BS!

Harvard needs to liquidate the endowment and give it to poor people—time to start walking the walk.

With THAT much money they (I’m assuming their ‘directors’) control, they don’t give a sh!t what you or I think, frankly.

The ONE thing a future conservative government could to help this country is to cut off any and all grants, contracts, financial assistance it currently gets. It is one of the biggest cancers of America.

The nitwits will then want to spend another $5m to cover up what they find.

Cathleen Stone is the widow of Justice William Douglas. They married when he was 68 and she was 22. They remained married until he died at 82.
