Shanghai reportedly aims to have zero COVID-19 cases outside of its quarantine centers by Wednesday, in what could be a turning point for the city’s strict “no tolerance” lockdowns that’ve left residents increasingly frustrated.
The target will allow the city to further ease its lockdown and start returning to normal life, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.
In order to meet the goal Wednesday, officials will accelerate COVID testing and the transfer of infected residents to quarantine centers, according to a speech by a local Communist Party official.

It has been noted that the numbers do not justify how intense their attention has been. It suggests they know something about this virus, whichever variant iteration, than the rest of the world — which they should given they know more about it than anywhere else.
Frankly, they look terrified of a big killing variant — or they have seen whatever variant they have and it’s new and not yet seen by WHO.
Regardless of which, they are reacting far more intensely than the numbers compel, and there has to be a reason.
If there’s 300,000 or 400,000 dead in Shanghai today, this CCP theater may be something more than smoke & mirrors. Funny, haven’t heard death count yet. Just more CCP propaganda.

It’s clearly not just the virus. Remember how our own gummint geniuses used the ceebug to change the rules in the last election? The chicoms are having major food problems , among other things. Using the bug as an excuse they can group and isolate people so they can’t riot, etc., about food shortages. They said they would deliver food to people being isolated but at a minimum they’re cutting rations, not delivering complete orders, and otherwise running a commie starvation campaign.
Remember the big rain storm from a year ago? It destroyed food production in the whole Yangtse basin (which is about like our Mississippi) and still hasn’t recovered. Stalin would be proud of this bunch.

If a government (China, US, or any other nation) can partner with big pharma, and then bribe hospitals and government agencies like the CDC to pad the books to make it appear there are millions of COVID infections and deaths, what makes you think they can’t repeat the scam and claim zero COVID deaths?
It’s all an scam, except now they are refining the process in the other direction.
Mark my words, as soon as China comes out with a report that claims their latest lockdown strategy is 100% effective, the US will follow suit in short order and begin its own Draconian lockdown measures.
Dr. Oz loves the China lockdowns. But the Mar A Lago crowd likes him so we should ignore that.
It may happen... For a while. Then they’ll go thru the whole quarantine thing again…. And again…. And again….
And why? The current variant is not nearly as serious as the earlier variants. And there are vaccines.
