Russia has demanded Ukrainian forces still fighting to defend the besieged city of Mariupol lay down their weapons. The apparent ultimatum comes as Russia continues its relentless and devastating attack on the southeastern city.
Russian state media Ria reported that "without exception" all "Ukrainian armed units and foreign mercenaries" must exit from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Moscow time (same as local time) "without any weapons and ammunition," citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
An estimated 100,000 people remain in Mariupol and its immediate surroundings, which are reported to be largely under Russian control, with Ukrainian troops confined to pockets of resistance.
Some context: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zekensky late Saturday called the situation in the besieged city of Mariupol "inhuman," saying the situation remained "as severe as possible."
"Russia is deliberately trying to destroy everyone who is there in Mariupol," he said in his latest video address.

Agreed as is the nearby Industrial NEON gas plant. The NEON gas plant is one of only a few in the world (another being in Odessa) that produces the Industrial Neon required for microchip manufacturing. If Russia captures the Mariupol and Odessa plants intact, they will control about 75% of the world’s industrial NEON supply with China co trolling almost all of the rest. Even the largest microchip producers in the world only have about a 45 day supply of Industrial NEON remaining and it is very difficult to produce. It would take about 8 months to a year for the US to get an Industrial NEON facility up and running.

The larger question is how this affects us here. We have a media that is overwhelmingly on one side of this war, a regime with suspicious ties to both, and a world of elites who see this as the perfect crisis to rebuild the world the way they think it should be.

I think a lot of it is because they are SO vested in the notion that the ENTIRE West is under the control of “Globalists”, “Soros”, etc etc and their hatred is so burning hot for it that they cannot fathom the idea of agreeing with them on the issue of Ukraine. If the choice was Hitler vs “Globalist”, its Hitler. Same for Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, the same.
I cant remember the last time but for maybe a brief period after 9/11 that the left and most of the right agree on the Ukraine issue. Think about that...
