The governor has been fixated on out-of-state happenings in recent weeks. Prior to departing California for Mexico, his final three tweets were all about Republican-led states. On Monday, while the governor was away, the New York Times published an article titled "A Conversation with Gov. Gavin Newsom of California" in which Newsom mostly discussed red-state legislation on abortion and LGBT rights, with only a passing mention of California-specific issues such as homelessness and housing costs (the interview with the governor was conducted prior to his vacation).
It's painfully obvious Newsom wants to run for president one day. 2028 seems like the likeliest date, as President Joe Biden has stated he will seek re-election in 2024 as long as he remains in good health, and Newsom will almost assuredly be re-elected this November to a second term that runs through Jan. 2027. If you believe Newsom's public statements that he doesn't eventually want to run for president, I'd direct you towards similar statements made by Sens. Cory Booker and Elizabeth Warren in the years prior to the 2020 presidential election.

The recent accusations that his office improperly interfered in a lawsuit against gaming giant Activision Blizzard only highlight the reality that Newsom is going to be viewed very skeptically by progressives who generally associate with the Democratic Party, and leftists who'll need convincing in order to do so ("gruesome newsom strikes again," popular leftist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker tweeted in response to the Activision story).

One thing is certain: Gavin Newsom has better hair than Warren and Booker.
Gavin is a smooth talker and he’s good looking.
He’s a male-model who can chat on talking points. Beyond the dozen 3x5 inch index cards he carries around....he can’t discuss matters beyond the point of his ‘cards’.
But I do agree....from the hundred top prospects....he’s probably the only 4-star character they have. That ‘mayor-Pete’ guy? He was a 7-line resume, at best.
Newsom is Beto with a surf board and a goblet of Pinot Noir.

As a San Franciscan, I’ve witnessed his meteoric rise from the wine shop proprietor (bankrolled by the Getty fortune) to city supervisor to mayor to lieutenant governor to governor. He didn’t always talk Obama-like, but I have to give the devil his due, he must have spent thousands of hours in front of a mirror rehearsing the Obama’s speeches on his ipod.
I don’t know the man, but I’ve seen him up close and personal a handful of times when he was running for and serving as mayor. He’s a good politician in the sense that he’s a friendly, outgoing glad-hander with the public.
As I said, I don’t know him, but I do know people who do know him, including people who went to school with him at various points. The dirty little secret is that the man is dumber than a box of rocks. He’s literally a special-ed kid who was a disastrous student at all levels. Considering that Dementia patient Joe Biden occupies the White House, maybe a functioning brain isn’t a prerequisite to the presidency, but still...
Also, when you think of Dems who have won nationally like Clinton and Obama, they sold themselves as moderates, even conservatives. It was asinine but a chunk of the public bought it. I’m not sure that’s possible with Newsom. He’s so associated with LGBT and abortion and the disastrous leftism of CA, I’m not sure how that appeals to the independent voters the Dems need in order to carry the swing states.
If Harris can become vp Newsom could become president. Be very afraid.
Newsom is a kleptocrat, not a true believer in communism.
That is why he was almost recalled and that is why stories like this will ensure his campaign never gets off the ground.
The communists took out Cuomo (another kleptocrat) to ensure he could not run for POTUS. They do not want Newsom.
They want a loyal party member that does not compromise communism for personal gain.
Also, all these candidates know Biden will not run in 2024. He will announce such right after the mid-terms, which will open the field up for a primary battle which will ensure Kamala never gets close to the White House.

Like most democ RATS, laws, rules, and morals are for ‘others.’. In fact, cheating on your spouse is a resume enhancement. Most of his tyrannical Emergency Orders were for ‘others’ since he violated most of them. He has developed the RAT’S ballot harvesting techniques to the point that SloJo’s handlers used it to steal the 2020 election. A few days before the recall election, Newsom announced that ANYONE could print a ‘legal’ ballot at home. That made ballot harvesting all the more possible.

The only thing Gov. Gavin Newsom has done for California is to make it a bigger shit hole then it already was he’s a pure bullshitter even Pelosi can’t rig that much.
Maybe so but he has shown he could care less about California citizens and cares more for illegals than those that already live here. I live in California and people don’t like his arrogant ways. But he is a Democrat in an overly Democratic state that is destroying everything they touch. Outmigration of rich and educated continues unabated. Texas, Nevada, Arizona are the recent destinations.

Newsom stole $1.4 billion in April 2020. He said it was to buy masks from a Chinese BUS company. The same BUS company Newsom bought defective electric buses when he was mayor of San Francisco. That money never went to the communists. No masks ever showed up. I bet it was Nesom’s buy in for the race for president. Andrew Cuomo stole $600 million from HUD when he ran it so he could be governor of New York. He was also planning on a run for president.
