U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker reacted to a piece from The Nation’s Elie Mystal declaring Walker to be “an insult to black people.”
“I know what I signed up for when I decided to run,” Walker said. “But what’s strange is he’s not telling everyone the Democratic Party has left the brown and black people behind. They forgot all about us. You look at the policies that’s going on, which has nothing to do with color. What it has to do with is these policies is not suitable for the people of Georgia. They’re not suitable for the people of the United States of America. And it doesn’t matter what he called me. I was bullied when I was a little kid. Words are not going to hurt me.”
“Right now, he knows I’m the most qualified candidate to represent Georgia as a United States senator,” Walker continued. “So it doesn’t matter what you say. I know what I’ve done. I graduated as one of the top members in my class in high school, and I have one of the largest minority-owned food service companies in the US because I’ve worked my tail off. I want everyone to have the same advantages I’ve had, and the way you do that is by working hard, by getting out there putting their perspiration and aspiration to whatever you do. And so, it doesn’t matter what they say.”
“I represent the people of Georgia, and I’m not going to have you to bully me because you can’t. I’m about bringing people together, not separating people. What it seems like you are is to separate people because of color. That’s not Herschel Walker.”

Nice riposte!
Elie Mystal is an insult to humanity.
Elie would have happily hunted down runaway slaves in the 1850s for the chance to stay on the porch.

Actually, she is a white supremacist and a racist.
TRUER WORDS have never been spoken.
Just as he played the game of football... if Walker was running at you you better be ready to handle a REAL load.
He's a RELENTLESS FORCE and just what GEORGIA and America need.
"Get the hell out of the way.. Herschel is comin' through!"

Not impressed with this guy at all. Another complainer.
Herschel Walker hasn’t lived in GA for decades. He lives in Texas. He needs to stay there. I don’t see him as US senatorial material and I have zero intention of voting for the guy. Doug Collins should be running for that seat.
"Should a, Could a, Would a"... Walker has the right spirit and temperment to represent the people.
I don't remember asking you to vote for him. I will venture a guess that he'll garner 60 to 70% of the vote WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT.
Very well played, Senator Walker.
I had a strong urge to support him, and had not had to give
much thought to it before now.
I like him standing up and defending himself.
Hope he does well.
Your crazy.
He’ll have to do better than that dumpster-fire of an interview last Sunday on Bartiromo’s show.
Walker saying “he’s the most qualified candidate for senator in Georgia” is pretty laughable. Don’t get me wrong I’d vote for him if I had too. But he’s not too bright. There’s probably 5 dozen retired military colonels or generals living in Georgia that would make way better senators. Walker is black, was good at carrying footballs and can do a lot of pushups. That’s about it.
“You’re”.
Good for him. I know I am planning to vote for him.
I am going to vote for him. I’ll take him ANY day of the week over Warnock.
