So after looking at Twitter I decided to go over to the Tass website. Nothing about the Moskva on the main page but doing a search for Moskva yielded this:
https://tass.com/russia/1438045
So I guess she’s well and truly gone.

“I do wonder why they think it’s better to admit incompetence than to admit the enemy sank a ship.”
Putin is purging leadership right now and this would support purging the Russian navy.

Wow.
These were not the flowers Putin eas expecting.
Pretty incredible that Ukraine pulled this off.

I hope Ukraine wins this war, but I don’t think anyone who has been on a ship of war takes pleasure in the thought of men being swallowed by the sea.

Missile Storm apparently.

“The Pentagon says she’s underway to home port under her own power.”
I was watching their press conference just a little bit ago and heard the same thing. Yet TASS is saying the ship went down (links above this one in Speedy’s post #20)

And..was the “Flag” on the ship. Was he one of the 54?

That really is some odd face-saving calculus, no?

They went to inflate the lifeboats, but only found Milo Dollars where it should be.

The Ukes claim that they fired two anti-ship missiles at the Moskva. The Russkies claim it was a fire from the detonation of ammunition. Both put the Russkies in a bad light.
The Moskva had a crew of 500, with only 54 reportedly rescued.

Where are all the Putinas who were telling us it wasn’t badly damaged?

For the sake of argument, let’s say that it was being towed. Why was it being towed? What broke?

The Edmond Fitzgerald was an American freighter that sank in a storm. Not a cruise ship.
You obviously don’t know the song or story, but commented anyway. The point was that Russia said the Moscow sank in a storm…

Not only was it their flag ship, but they can’t bring any more into the Black Sea because Turkey is blocking the Straits of the Dardanelles, or whatever they’re called.

That’s gonna leave a mark. Somewhere.”
Reported earlier that crew was evacuated.

Waiting for instructions.

This threatens the regime.
I agree. First the fiasco with the column in front of Kiev now losing the flagship of the Black Sea fleet... I don't know how long Putin can continue to sustain these military embarrassments.

Well, the us navy wont blame a girl fight for a collision with a freighter.
