In Melitopol, temporarily occupied by Russian fascists, the resistance forces eliminated 70 invaders. Among the annihilated occupiers were "Kadyrovites"
This was reported in the press center of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. It is noted that unknown patriots "hunt" the invaders at night when they go on patrol during curfew.
The occupiers carefully conceal information about the exact number of Russian soldiers killed by Ukrainians and the circumstances of their death.
The GUR noted that the cause of death of the invaders going out on night patrols is mainly knife and gunshot wounds.
"There is evidence that this is the result of the work of the Ukrainian resistance movement of Melitopol," the Ukrainian intelligence service noted.
The Russian fascists have so far failed to find the avengers.
"Currently, the units of the occupation forces have not achieved results in the search for persons involved in the destruction of Russian servicemen," the GUR noted.
As OBOZREVATEL reported, the Russian military began to dig trenches near Melitopol, Zaporozhye region. This may indicate the fear of the occupiers that they will soon have to "give up" these territories.

At the risk of stating the possibly obvious, this war or “special operation” looks like it’s gonna go on far longer than most suspect. And Ukraine is gonna look like (and be) a garbage dump by the time it’s over.

Additionally, the author David Drake has noted that, “The only thing worse than city fighting is city fighting in someone else’s city.”
I don’t think anyone who’s got half a clue about the above expects that the place won’t resemble a moonscape or scrapheap when it’s done.

Seriously, I understand propaganda is part of war but it really is getting over the top.
Both the German and Russian armies up through WWII responded ruthlessly and often indiscriminately to actual or apparent civilian resistance. Russia even more recently. Such headlines are baked into the conflict.
Russian crimes in the occupied areas have been understated Jack. They are so busy looting and raping that they neglect unit cohesion, the defense priority of work, and other military related duties. Many are from the Russian far east and then there are the Chechens as well.
It has been said that the Civil War was so long and bloody due to Robert E. Lee’s competence. If Ukraine is defeated, which it most likely will be, how much pain and death will be attributable to the aid and support provided by the west? A brokered peace, even if Ukraine must relinquish some real estate, would be preferable to total annihilation of the populace. At some point, discretion is the better part of valor, at least where women and children are concerned.

Now that the Russians have moved into and directed their activities into Eastern Ukraine, the stakes expand considerably. This is a heavily industrialized area and one would expect the value/sq mile to far, far exceed the value of the mostly agricultural west. Unless the Russians level the steel mills & factories. So yes, rotten choice that it is, I generally agree, Ukr would be or would have been better off ceding some territory. But apparently, the Russians want Donesk and Donbass and if they succeed at that (which I think eventually will) then Ukraine’s GDP will IMO fall by 75%. And stay there for 30 years.
