Let’s assume for a moment that this inflation is entirely due to Putin (it isn’t, of course). Then the question becomes: Why did Putin behave when Trump was president, but start a war now that Biden is president?

Someone needs to ask that question at a White House briefing.

They could lend that slogan to Zalenskyy for a few years. He’s going to be be begging for money much the same as he’s now begging for weapons.

Number 1 pop hit from December 1981 was “Physical” by Olivia Newton-John. I never liked that song. Rod Stewart had a hit with “Young Turks”.

“Taps” was released in December 1981. For me, one of the funniest movies ever. Lighten up Francis.

Inflation is so bad that even changing the formula no longer hides it.

The real rate is in the teens. For now.

The masses begin to ask relative questions and think.

Don’t know about that. It seems you can fool most of the people most of the time.

Wait till those cpi numbers get into the cola escalators in work pay and benefit clauses. The gift that keeps on giving. Only good news is the tax tables adjust for it also!

Thank God Reagan got the income tax brackets indexed for inflation.

Before that, inflation actually caused taxes to go up faster than the CPI. Inflation benefited the govt.

I won’t be listening to them, but I’m sure that will be the talking point of the day, stock market futures are up for some reason.

Just about anyone that knows anything about money.

Allowing the government to calculate inflation is like putting the Mafia in charge of the casino count room.
