Fox News Digital has seemingly decided to switch gears in favor of Republican firebrand and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, touting him as a strong 2024 contender for Donald Trump

After a recent falling out with former President Donald Trump, Fox News appears to be gassing up another Republican contender for the 2024 nomination: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

On Sunday, the conservative network ran a piece on the new Republican man of the hour and gushed over DeSantis' fundraising prowess.

With the deadline to report March totals to the Florida Secretary of State approaching, DeSantis - branded 'a fundraising behemoth' by Rupert Murdoch's network - has raised more than $109 million through his reelection campaign and his political committee Friends of DeSantis.

Rand Paul should be considered a contender too.

No President in history experienced the attacks DJT did from day one of his presidency. Few if any would have survived it, let alone thrived. He made mistakes, but he was still the best president we’ve ever had. I’m in for another term. I like Desantis but he couldn’t survive what Trump went through, let him be 2028, we’ll need him then.

protecting American jobs and tariffs?

That is what patriots believe in, Trump is a patriot, so therefore he believes in those things too.

Trying to sit the base.

Best thing these two can do is show a force as compatriots.

The problem for anyone is getting rid of all the back stabbers and corruption agency wide, a clear IMMEDIATE purge plan needs to be adopted before actually taking office

DeSantis has learned the art of the alinsky and practices it with a sharpened knife.

I love Trump too but he does not seem capable of picking people who can be trusted. I don’t know why but he just can’t. If it came down to it I would pick DeSantis.

Trump in 2024, and DeSantis in 2028.

I think (hope) that's the plan

Not necessarily a bad thing. Trump has too much baggage. Makes poor stagffing decisions. I voted for him and would in the GE, but if it was Desantis or Trump Im going Desantis.

That’s a good point.

DeSantis has my vote if he’s the nominee in 2024 or 2028, but I have zero enthusiasm for him. For all the impressive marks he gets as a political figure, the guy is an establishment Republican from top to bottom. He’d be a hundred times better than Mitt Romney and a thousand times better than John McCain, but once in office I predict most Freepers will be calling him “George W. DeSantis” within six months.

Name one key person in the Trump administration who DeSantis would NOT have hired.

There aren’t any, as I see it.

I think that there’s a chance for DeSantis being the VP candidate in 2024 with Trump. Then running in 2028 for President.

Ron DeSantis will make a great president in the future. However he has made it perfectly clear numerous times that he will not run against Trump.

So if Trump chooses to run in 2024 and all indications are that he will, DeSantis will not run in that election.

Trump had the Swamp in the West Wing with him: Jared & Ivanka. How do you eliminate the Swamp when they’re your closest advisors?

I agree that’s a strong possibility but we love the Governor here in the panhandle. He would be good for the country.

Trump endorsement of Dr. Oz was the last straw for me.

This is a critical Senate race in Pennsylvania and Kathy Barnette is a true believer and not a carpetbagger like everyone else.

Trump made many bad staffing and endorsement decisions and this one went too far for me.

I will support DeSantis in the primary over Trump.

If Trump prevails, I will support him in the general election, but I think Trump (and many of us) want to win for revenge’s sake. I get it. I would love to poke the left in the eye and humiliate them.

But Trump’s poor choices in staff and endorsements demonstrates he is not informed and has nobody to advise him properly in these areas.

A second Trump term would be more of the same strife by his own team.
