Humans could burn all the remaining commercially exploitable oil some 1.4 trillion bbls worth and only raise the temps 1.8C that’s 0.3C more than the target with burning every last drop recoverable with current and near future technology. The more important issue is that last 1.4 trillion will only last humans 46 years at our current consumption rates of 96.5 million bbl per day. When China , India and Africa’s huge and growing middle classes demand western levels of consumption that count down get cut by half if 500 million more middle class people burn at EU levels which are half again American levels. The more pressing issue is the age of oil is ending fast this planet cannot support 10 billion at western levels of consumption there simply is not enough resources for that we would need four earth sized planets. Humans need to move as rapidly as possible to forever energy sources that’s just a fact. Solar , nuclear are the only two that have the magnitudes of gigajoules to run a civilization of ten billion. The sun dumps well over a million times the needs of humans per day over the surface of the planet volume is not and has never been the issue. Storage, transport and distribution is the issue. Humans have mastered the technology needed it’s political will now. Same for nuclear with fast spectrum reactors the amounts of nuclear fuel is effectively unlimited tens of millennia worth has already been mined and is sitting as spent Uranium U238 in stockpiles world wide. Every gram of that U238 is fuel in a fast reactor. Whereas only 0.7% of natural uranium as U235 is fuel in the completely insanely wasteful PWR once through reactor. It should be a crime against humanity to burn U235 in a PWR it the equal to strip mining prime farmlands to only use less than 1% of the energy you mined up.

For UN weenies to live, or for the normals? Pretty important distinction.

US Presidential election 2024. World ends 2025 if emissions don’t peak. Sounds like an issue for the 2024 election. Coincidence?

Sin must peak before 2022 or we are finished.

Global warming has nothing to do with it.

“Emissions must peak before 2025 for ‘liveable future’, UN report says”

so, 6.7 years remaining has now been reduced to 2.75 years remaining ... who knew that AOC was a optimist ...

Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. It is a vital part of our atmosphere, and without a replenishing supply, the oxygen content of the earth’s atmosphere would diminish to the point of asphyxiation of most living things.

OXYGEN is the polluting element in our atmosphere, causing corrosion and decay, resulting in essentially burning everything up. Schoolchildren should know this fact before they are in the third grade, and it is FAR more essential to be in possession of these facts than it is to “know” how many genders there are beyond the two assigned by nature.

Yes, I agree.

In three years we can laugh in their face as they make their
next five year plan public, like good little commies.

Holland has plenty of land just inches above water.

I don’t hear them complaining about the water rising inches

When is someone going to challenge these fools.
Even if it was true and we had a solution to fix it, it would take 20 years to implement.
This is all about creating a slush fund for the rest of the world.

If average global temps go up a few degrees, that would provide such a wonderful agricultural opportunity for countries like Canada and Russia and China and so on. The temps going up is not catastrophic.

So are the two biggest greenhouse gas emitters (India and China) going to be required to reduce their emissions?

I thought not.

I believe the ChiComs have an excellent plan.
Build hundreds of new coal fired power plants.
Switch civilians to electric cars.
Save the good stuff for the military.

They said this in the 60’s. The new Ice Age was going to kill us if we didn’t eliminate fossil fuels.
