When considering thev Azov Battalion it is important to note that the history is complex and the Azov Militia, as well as Donbas separatists both committed war crimes. However, this does not take away from the atrocities and regrettable loss of life in Donbas

The way that Putin and the Kremlin use the terms ‘Nazism’ and ‘fascism’ is rooted in the Soviet era when, then and now, it means anybody who does not want to be either part of the Soviet Union or part of the Russian world,

One of the last independent Russian journalists Alexander Nevzorov who escaped Russia after criminal charges were pressed against him for calling military operation “war,” contacted Azov Battalion to find out if they were indeed neo-Nazis as the Kremlin has repeatedly claimed and used as the basis for their entire legend that Ukraine is run and controlled by Nazis.

To compare the Holocaust to what is happening in a city that is itself a hotbed and hive of Ukrainian nazism is disengenous and offensive. Spend your time more productively pointing out that Ukrainians en masse were actively involved in the Holicaust.
