Joe Biden had incorrectly promised Americans they could save $500 a month by switching their homes to renewable energy during his Thursday speech
The White House quickly published a correction that makes clear that Americans would actually save around $500 a year, not a month
Biden also announced the release of 180 million barrels of oil over six months from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve
He said record high gas prices had two roots: the pandemic and Putin's war

President Joe Biden vastly overpromised Americans that they can expect savings of $500 a month by transitioning to renewable energy, which the White House corrected by saying the savings would actually come over a year.
In a fumble during his speech on gas prices on Thursday, Biden touted rebate programs for consumers switching to green energy but incorrectly cast how much would be saved.
'If your home is powered by safer, cheaper, cleaner electricity like solar or heat pumps, you can save about $500 a month on average,' Biden said.
The White House corrected Biden's remark in a transcript, making clear he meant to say the savings he predicted would be over a year, not a month.
'His plan will help ensure that America creates millions of good-paying union jobs in clean, cutting-edge industries for generations to come,' the statement said
'And it will save American families money in the immediate future – including more than $950 a year in gas savings from taking advantage of electric vehicles, and an additional $500 a year from using clean electricity like solar and heat pumps to power their homes.'
Biden addressed the subject while announcing plans to order the release of 1 million barrels of oil per day from the strategic petroleum reserve for the next six months.

If “renewable energy” saves money then why do governments have to pay people, and force energy providers to pay people, to install renewable energy systems?

Even giving Biden’s addled brain an excuse that he confused a month with a year, he’s still lying. We’ve had decades now to evaluate the true cost of ‘renewable energy’. It clearly costs MORE than traditional (combined nuclear, hydro, coal, gas, and oil) energy. The reason, of course, is that the combined investments, distribution, obsolesce, and intermittency of so-called ‘renewable energy’ far exceed similar costs with the alternatives. The sun’s energy is free, capturing it isn’t.
Using Tesla data; if you drive your Tesla 100 miles per day commuting and recharge every night Monday thru Friday which is 5 recharges, it will cost over $150.00 per month to keep your buggy running. My gas powered Camry is twice more efficient.
Does the know $500 will not make the car payment on a Telsa?

When Chevrolet came out with the Volt, I ran some numbers. The Volt is based on the same chassis as the Chevy Cruze. Calculating the gas mileage of a $15,000 Cruze vs the sales cost of a $40,000 Volt, a driver would spend enough in gas to reach equilibrium at 350,000 miles.
An automotive engineer buddy confirmed my numbers.
Grid tied electric and wind is INSANE.
Dumping power into the grid during mostly off peak times.
I OWN both my vehicles.
I haven’t had a car payment since 1984.
BUYING a new EV creates NEW costs....payments-—down payment-—registration-—insurance costs which WILL be much higher than anything I pay now.
I would also have to install a charging system at my own property.....MORE $$$$$$$.
NONE of the above could be accomplished for $500 a year.
I DO KNOW HOW to do ACCOUNTING——BIDEN DOES NOT.
ALSO-—ALL Maintenance on a Tesla must be done by Tesla.
I can do a lot of maintenance on both my vehicles myself.
Changed oil & filter 2 weeks ago today on my neighbor’s lift in his garage. 30 mins or so. Remove pan plug, drop used oil—remove used filter, drop into catch can.
Fill new filter 2/3 with NEW oil & smear oil on gasket ring of filter. Wipe oil from pan bottom, replace pan plug. Replace old filter with new filter-after wiping surface of block where filter goes. Get hand tight & then 1/4 more turn-—
Drop lift so I can get to oil filler neck on block & put in the rest of 6 quarts of new oil. Engine refreshed by racing engine builder & he installed high speed oil pump==needs 6 quarts—NOT 5.
Clean up & drive car off lift.
I USED TO do oil changes in my driveway with ramps. Lift is a gift!!!
BTW-—FEMALE & 82 years old.
