A recent poll of Bay Area residents found that 64% believe the region is on the "wrong track" — a record high in the eight-year history of the poll.
The poll was conducted by Bay Area firm EMC Research on behalf of the Bay Area Council, a group of business leaders in the region.
Survey respondents were asked the question, "Do you feel things in the Bay Area are going in the right direction or do you feel things have gotten pretty seriously off on the wrong track?" Sixty-four percent replied with the "wrong track," 21% replied with "right direction" and 15% said they didn't know.
The survey has been conducted every year since 2014, and the share of respondents selecting "wrong track" has never been higher.
The top concerns for residents are homelessness, housing and crime/safety, in that order. Just 2% of respondents listed the COVID-19 pandemic as their top concern.
The percentage of respondents who said they are "likely to move out of the Bay Area in the next few years" is unchanged since last year at 48%.

Yet Pelosi Galore is still in power.
Go figure.
Screw ‘em. Let them live in the septic pit they have created for themselves.
Context. They are dissatisfied with the current crop of communists. They would never consider voting Republican, they just want better communists.
They’ll keep voting Democrat. It’s what they do.
Its like the former Soviet Union - everyone quietly accepts that their system has failed and life is getting worse, but everyone carries on and repeats the slogans anyway.
The former Soviet Union?
I predict EMC Research will be accused of spreading false or misleading information soon.
I no longer recognize the valley I grew up in. Its like a foreign country.
And yet they will still vote fore the same people and party that got them there.
I liked the response from the 15% that said they don’t know. I suspect that most of the population there would fit that category!
Winners of the ‘slow learner award’ unanimously bestowed upon sf voters.
Turds complaining about life in the toilet bowl.
Yep. They will still insist that the right socialists will fix things.
More accurately, the options are “wrong track”, “right direction” and “don’t give a sh!t”
Wall them in. Force them to live in what they voted for.
21% is probably equal to the number of chronically insane, e.g. hardcore democrats.
The commie voters in SF are far more likely to blame their misery on Trump/Republicans rather than the people they voted into power for decades. That’s how sick and delusional they are.
A good example of the power of long-term, one-party politics and ideological group think. Obviously SF doesn't have gulags - not yet, anyway.
