Thin blue line patches worn by on-duty Calgary police officers will need to be replaced with a symbol that better reflects the values of Calgarians, following a decision by the Calgary Police Commission. The decision is aimed at ending the use of the controversial patch that has mixed meanings, while still ensuring there is a way for officers to visually honour each other and those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
...the thin blue line also has a contentious history with roots in division, colonialism and racism, most recently being prominently displayed at counter protests against the Black Lives Matter movement.

“People in our community have clearly expressed that the thin blue line patch on police officers makes them uncomfortable due to its history and current use by groups opposing racial equity. As policing evolves, so must its symbols. Discontinuing the use of a symbol that is undermining some Calgarians’ trust in the police is the right thing to do,” added Chair Cornett.
The Commission’s decision follows a year-long consultation process by the Calgary Police Service that included conversations with Calgary’s two police associations, the Service’s leadership, Beyond the Blue (an organization that supports local police families), the Service’s Anti-Racism Action Committee, and the Service’s Community Advisory Boards. Support for the positive things the thin blue line represents was unanimous, while some participants raised concerns about the impact of the symbol’s alternate meanings in the community.

Hammer and Sykle?
Thin Blue Line?
Well Sir, I did not have room for all the rainbow colors and used blue only.
Was that wrong?
Hahahahahaha
Will probably be replaced with a "BLM" symbol!
Regards,
That is so outrageous. The group that HATES police more than any other, BLM, wins over those who support the police. Not in my wildest imagination did I associate the “thin blue line” with opposing racial equality (NOT “EQUITY”).

Sez who?! Somebody grab a muck rake cause it sure is piled high.
Squatting bovine.
Free Pastor Pawlowski, you fascists.
Cops of course don’t mean any harm when wearing a thin blue line patch. To suggest otherwise is silly. Nevertheless, it’s not appropriate. Once thing that (supposedly) unites us is the national flag. So leave it be. No alterations.
Why not wear some other patch instead to get the message across? Maybe something like a police shield with a blue line across it.
The CPS is also ticketing people for honking their horns during freedom protests that take place every Saturday. Every time that Pastor Artur Pawlowski is released from jail, they arrest him for breaking another ‘condition’ of release. Unfortunately, apparently, the ‘conditions of ‘breathing in public’ voids his terms of release.
Personally, I loathe both the Calgary Stasi AND the PCPC (Politically Correct Police Commission). May the bunch of then join Calgary Mare (as in horse’s ass) Jyoti (the Gonad) Gondek in a quick trip to hell!
The unfair arrest of some Canadian truckers makes me uncomfortable. Grow up, Canada.
That’s CanaDUH for you!
..... Sounds like the Dept has become a bunch of Woke Bass Turds .......
Cowboy hat ?
Cowboy hat ?
“People in our community have clearly expressed that the thin blue line patch on police officers makes them uncomfortable…”
If that were the standard then someone would care about the things that make ME uncomfortable but they don’t AND they are proud and glad that they don’t. Slap these hypocritical pieces of crap down or live on your knees, those are our choices.
Red star.
Ban blue stitching, too...
