When Rep. Don Young, Alaskan U.S. House representative of 49 years, passed away on March 18, he left a hole the size of the Yukon in the fabric of Alaska. With his unvarnished way of expressing himself and the legacy he left in the halls of Congress, he was one of a kind and Alaskan through and through.
Alaska has depended on Mr. Young’s leadership in the House of Representatives since 1973, but now thanks to Sen. Lisa Murkowski, we will be without any representation until mid-August.
For the next five months, there will be no member of the House from Alaska due to “Ballot Measure 2,” a complete restructuring of Alaska’s elections systems passed narrowly by voter referendum in 2020. The scheme mandates an open, all-party primary in which voters choose one candidate, with the top four vote-getters advancing to a general election. In that general election, voters have the option of ranking the four remaining candidates, and a winner will be declared following a complicated process that reallocates votes from candidates who are eliminated during the tabulation.

There should be a policy that for any period where you are not represented in the House you don’t have to pay taxes.
Of course that will never happen as it may lead to some bad health outcomes for congress critters.

Deficit spending is taxation without representation.
Congress votes to spend money today
and some unrepresented person in the future
is taxed to pay for it.
Ranked voting....this is their plan to turn Alaska blue
There were only a dozen or so local fishermen and small business owners there so we got to spend some time in direct conversation with her. PR and I were both very impressed. Kelly Tshibaka is a solid conservative who will be good for Alaska and for the United States.
This one definitely deserves our support.
I don’t think it looks good for Lizard Lisa, thank God.
I appreciate this being put out there, but this needs to be in every Alaskan paper and media outlet as well.
Hammer the pinkos at home Kelly!
it’s time for the lizard to crawl away.
She’s got my support, Alaska is the last frontier, how the Hell can some loser like Lisa keep her seat..rhetorical question, it’s just like in the lower 48, City States…Anchorage, Juneau perhaps also. Sickening. President Trump saw how Obama/Biden were flooding areas with section 8 and other undesirables.. Stand tall Alaska!
From your lips to God’s ears. Please please please
Has she had any announcement on Alaska moving to all mail-in ballots with no signature confirmation?
I like “No Representation without Taxation”. Everyone has to have skin in the game. If you vote for something it comes from your own pocket. No more “Making the Rich pay their Fair share.” When you can’t define what fairness is.
“Taxation without representation...”
Can’t be worse than what we have now with “representation”.

bttt
I’d think that would violate one person one vote.🤔

Many of our problems in the US today are caused by “representation without taxation”; the Founding Fathers never allowed covetous idle people to determine how the contributions of those funding the government were spent. Today those clutching people are the base of the Democratic Party...
