Chris Wallace, the disgraced ex-Fox News Channel host, took a number of cheap shots at his former place of employment during an exclusive interview with The New York Times.
“I just no longer felt comfortable with the programming at Fox,” said Wallace, the notorious never-Trumper.
Mr. Wallace left Fox News after nearly two decades to take a low-level job hosting a digital program on CNN, the fledgling leftwing news channel.
He castigated both the network and Tucker Carlson, the top-rated host in all of cable television.
“I’m fine with opinion: conservative opinion, liberal opinion,” Mr. Wallace said in his first extensive interview about his decision to leave. “But when people start to question the truth — Who won the 2020 election? Was Jan. 6 an insurrection? — I found that unsustainable.”
Mr. Wallace told The Times he spent “a lot of 2021 looking to see if there was a different place for me to do my job.”
He told the newspaper that he was “so alarmed by Mr. Carlson’s documentary ‘Patriot Purge’ — which falsely suggested the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was a ‘false flag’ operation intended to demonize conservatives — that he complained directly to Fox News management.”

And, what, pray tell, is that Mr. Wallace???? Because we've seen your liberal agenda, and lies.
The GOP wanted Trump gone as much as the dems did. More, probably. They certainly won't fight to defend him in the slightest. If they thought they could have gotten away with going along with impeachment then 100% would have done it. But they knew there would be dire consequences for them if they did that, and for the party they'd just killed with one vote. Supporting a soft coup by helping rig an election though ... that probably would have sounded pretty good to them had it come up.
The nice thing is, we will never have to hear from him again.
Who in the hell would pay to watch CNN?
They got canned and used it as an excuse to land a gig somewhere else.
Here’s the REST of the story...as the late, great Paul Harvey might say.
Note Mr. Wallace said he spent “most” of 2021 looking for another place to work. This was anything but a secret at Fox; in the TV biz, when “talent” (and in Wallace’s case, I use the term loosely), seeks new employment options, word gets out pretty fast. By all indications, FNC didn’t make much of an effort to keep him; there was nothing in the industry trades about contract negotiations, efforts to “re-up” Wallace, etc. In fact, if I’m reading the tea leaves in my old biz correctly, it sounds like Fox was almost encouraging Wallace to look around.
And the reasons are obvious. Chris Wallace inherited a last-place Sunday show when he came to Fox and left it in the same position 18 years later. FNC knows they can do better and save some bucks in the process. Unload Wallace and his seven-figure paycheck and use a series of guest hosts. If someone seems to click, give them the job. Heck, they’ve been letting Trace Gallagher host the show. Trace is a very competent anchor, but he’s never been a star at Fox and when they tried to make him a main anchor (hosting the 1 pm program), it ended in failure. Seeing him anchor “Fox News Sunday” tells me the network is in no hurry to fill the job.
Ultimately, I think Fox settles on paying one of their primary anchors a little more to work six days a week, with plenty of Friday “comp” days to offset the weekend shift. I’m guessing Bret Baier or Bill Hemmer gets the nod—if they want it.
If Fox wants to do better than a fourth-place show, they should blow up the format and start over. FNS is just a carbon of every other stale, Sunday interview show. Try something different—Sharyl Atkisson’s weekend program on the Sinclair stations might be a good template. She presents stories from outside the Beltway that actually matter to most Americans. And who knows? Fox might actually attract more viewers.
Chris Wallace has been failing at network TV gigs for over 40 years—ever since he was named the “third anchor” of the Today Show in the early 80s. I guess the family name has allowed him to float from one high-paying network job to another; God knows it wasn’t talent.
...dozens expected to tune in (there, I fixed it for you).
BTW, if I were Chrissy Wallace, I’d be consulting my agent and attorney about possible buy-outs. Wallace was a Zucker hire, and new management may not be as enthusiastic about a 75-year-old anchor with an expensive salary and marginal audience appeal....it was also reported that Zucker never assigned Wallace an executive producer or staff, so even he (apparently) realized the hire was a mistake.
Tucker made him cry.
Daddy Mike Wall-Ass was a real piece of work also.
Good riddance to Wallace.
Hope we don’t see him again.
He’s a democrat left wing hack.
Hopefully Brett Baier will leave as well. He is a class A POS!Don't be fooled. Changing messengers won't change the message.
Fox (and their wives) hate Trump.
Fox News Corp headquarters are riddled with never-Trumpers...Paul Ryan for one, the guy that made the too early call of Arizona for Biden to discourage the people waiting in lines to vote is another...BTW, it was announced, that same guy will be at the "Decisions Desk" for the up coming elections.
They cheated once and got away with it, they'll do it again.
Chris Wallace wanted to defend the 2020 election, Fox can't allow that.
In case you haven't noticed Fox has not said one word about the 2020 election since that night...Not one.
That includes not a peep about any of the audits or any other revelations from several states about election fraud.
They're obviously covering up something. They're hoping it will all go away. Too much talk might open a can of worms they can't defend.
Their silence is deafening and telling.
Fox News can rot in hell for their betrayal of the nation and betrayal of a President (his name doesn't matter, it's the office they betrayed)
YES!
Chris Wallace is always bitching about something. It is really unbecoming.
I am a fan of Lorraine Wallace’s soup cookbook. Lots of delicious recipes.
Chris Wallace may just decide to chill out and enjoy some good home cooking.
Chrissy, don’t go away mad, just GO AWAY!!
