At this point finding reliable information out of the Ukraine is very difficult. I suggest looking at twitter and telegram accounts posting information directly from the area. Use google translate to translate the Russian or Ukrainian to English.

Russia can no more invade the Ukraine than the United States can invade Texas That is a ridiculous misunderstanding of the history of Ukraine. Ukraine has been a separate nation for many, many years. Arguing that Ukraine is somehow a part of Russia today is like arguing that the USA is really part of England.

As a symbolic target, Kiev is important to Putin. I agree...Kiev is a symbolic target...but defeating Ukraine's ATO army (which is in the process of being cut off and surrounded) is a higher strategic priority .

Corrupt or not - NOBODY has a right to invade someone else’s country.
Russia has had a boot on Ukraine’s neck for a long time. Ukraine is shoving that boot up their ass for the first time in a long time.
Will it end well? Who knows. Probably not. But Nobody’s son or daughter should die because two politicians can’t learn to speak and solve problems.
I can solve it real fast: put Putin and Zelensky in a room together with baseball bats and lock the door until they either settle it peaceably or only one comes out.
