Mayor Eric Adams will ease the city’s private-sector vaccination mandate so Nets star Kyrie Irving — and some possibly unvaccinated Mets and Yankees — can compete at home, a source familiar with the matter said Wednesday.
Adams is expected to announce the reversal of his earlier stance on Thursday, the source told The Post.
The move will cover Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, home to the Nets, as well as Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, the Mets’ Citi Field in Queens and Manhattan’s famed Madison Square Garden, home to both the Knicks and the Rangers, the source said. Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is widely suspected to be unvaccinated, and the Bombers are scheduled to face off against the rival Boston Red Sox at home on April 7, the opening day of Major League Baseball’s 2022 season.

I don’t get it. There was always an exemption for athletes, actors, glitterati...
I love how when it’s a lib, they use titles like “Mayor Adams” or “Senator Elizabeth Warren” to enhance the political fungus’ reputation. With “Trump’ it was just “Trump.”
De Blasio used marijuana daily. It was apparent. Getting the impression that this guy Adams drinks heavily.
The Mayor’s an a**. Don’t kid yourself...Somebody whispered that NYC makes a lot of money at these games.

All Democrats salute the “Double Standard” sign.
Free Kyrie
Every last one of these politicians needs to have emergency powers limited to 48 or 72 hours and then any such power goes back to We The People.
How does a lowly Mayor mandate the medical policy for owners of sports teams, and its players?
mask the kiddos though
I wonder if it’s only for the black athletes.
This guy being a racist prick and all.
BTTT.
Clearly in response to that Brooklyn Nets player who couldn’t play with his team, but COULD sit in the stands. Total jackassery.
Well, another win for the “unworthy” of us who refused the mandates
of he forced-vaxxers.
The future is : we need politicians to ban politicians from
forcing this shit down our throats ever again.
They make money at the games, but they are losing a lot by preventing many people from returning to offices due to the vax requirement. As more and more leaks out about the spike in deaths from the vaxes, it is unlikely ANYOME who hasn’t received a shot will now get one - and employers are almost certainly looking at ways to move the jobs elsewhere (officially) so they don’t keep paying NY state and NYC income taxes when the employees are in neither.
On top of that, much of the revenues reaped from the money those millions of workers spent every day in NYC is lost - and can’t be regained.
Sounds like a win for the millionaire athletes, not the office workers.
