On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “New Day,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman and Senate Majority Whip Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) said Democrats could have done a better job handling the timing of the accusations against Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his nomination to the Supreme Court, but “hindsight is very clear. At that time, we were trying to do the best we could under an extraordinary set of circumstances.”

Durbin is the perfect successor to Biden as the dumbest and most venal senator.

Kavanaugh was just a re-run of Thomas. Democrats always want no opposition for their ghastly losers and fight tooth and nail against schmucks like Kav.

There is a lot of competition for that position.

I do not think Durbin is dumb, he knows his audience. But he is definitely venal times two.

You were trying to besmirch a Republican nominee like the Democrats have done since Bork, at least, to every Republican nominee.
Durbin is scum and he’s not even the scummiest.

Oh, right...the ‘timing’ was the problem.
So this is an admission they were in on it all along? Otherwise, “timing” wasn’t an issue.

"We know we raked your guy over the coals on a phony charge, but it's time for you to be the bigger person and not do the same to our nominee."
And the Republicans will be happy to oblige.

I heard last night (perhaps on Tucker) that it’s been 17 years since a Republican SCOTUS nominee got a single Democrat “yes” vote out of the Senate judiciary committee.
And, as usual, ‘rat nominees skate through after receiving accolades from most of the GOP lawmakers.
I expect nothing different this time around.

They wouldn’t even give some of Bush or Trump’s judicial nominees hearings.
Democrats fight tooth and nail and Republicans bend over for “comity”.

The timing? There is no better time to lie. The timing was the key element of their plan, and intended to derail the confirmation and force withdrawal. And everyone knew it was lies. Everyone knew it was an intentional circus. Everyone.

Durbin, as a rat, is a perfect reverse barometer of the truth.
“Timing” of the Kavanaugh fiasco was exactly how the rats wanted it.

Meaningless statement. There was nothing extraordinary about it at all.

"Kavanaugh was just a re-run of Thomas. "
Democrats held up Kavanaugh's nomination to the D.C. Court of Appeals for three years from 2003 to 2006 for partisan reasons. They are evil bastards.
