I certainly hope a curfew works - but why decide to enforce it starting at midnight? You gave the hooligans plenty of time to raise hell before then.
Additionally, do the Miami Beach PD (along with maybe the Fl Hwy Patrol, etc) have the numbers to stand up to the crowds that won’t obey the curfew?

I travelled down from college to Ft. Lauderdale in the 70’s.....It was good times then.

Interestingly—since you mentioned the Amish—there’s a community south of Sarasota FL that floods with Amish from PA and OH (they come in buses) during the winter months. They travel around on bikes and make pies for the tourists and swim in the ocean with full suspenders and pants on. I saw it myself 3 weeks ago. Fascinating. . .

There was a robbery/shootout at a local bank near where I lived in high school and the bullet impact craters in the concrete block of the building were visible for years before they got patched.
I thought it was a good warning to future robbers to leave the holes there as a reminder of what happened to the last guys who tried to rob it.

It may be safer to send US troops to the Ukraine rather than keep them any where near the US border or major metropolitan centers.
