There was a robbery/shootout at a local bank near where I lived in high school and the bullet impact craters in the concrete block of the building were visible for years before they got patched.
I thought it was a good warning to future robbers to leave the holes there as a reminder of what happened to the last guys who tried to rob it.
Was in the former EAST GERMANY in 2000 for my job.
There were still bullet holes in buildings from WWII.................
