You’re making my point - at 70 you’ve been away from what you learned way back then. Unless of course you’ve continued study. Even with my education I know that things I once studied historically have been improved or updated....and corrected.
The city’s already been chopped into quarters and cut off. The last of the Azov Battalion there will simply be wiped out.
Yes... I know. But, I don't think he fears NATO.
During my time I saw some US soldiers flying\waving the Confederate battle flag. I never interpreted it as their intention to reestablish the Confederacy.
Russia has private business, property etc. something the USSR never allowed. It’s more an authoritarian Fascist-like state then a communist\socialist one. Emphasis on authoritarianism not internal economic policy. As a comparison, China currently is also more of an authoritarian Fascist-like state then a communist\socialist one, communist trappings aside. In fact, moving toward Nazi-like state with its growing internal emphasis on Han racial superiority. Xi is slowly encouraging a very Hitler-like (and Mao-like!) cult of personality. Its possible they may completely move back to the Maoist type of state, but not there yet.
They are surrounded and they want out but the the Azovs won’t let them leave. They are being used as human shields. An escape corridor was made and the Azov battalion is blocking it. Are you good with that or do you think those residents should be able to get out?
I am sad you wouldn’t want me on your side based on propaganda. I have posted to you many times over the years and have respected you.
The citizens could get out. The Azovs were not invited to leave I would guess.
Why would you surround an army and let the army leave?
To avoid having to fight them in the city, which is rather difficult. The primary goal for the Russians is a land bridge across the north side of the Sea of Azov. It would be easier to get that by letting the Ukrainian military leave Mariupol, but there's no way the Ukrainians would trust the Russians and despite heavy losses I don't think the Russians would allow it either.
During my time I saw some US soldiers flying\waving the Confederate battle flag. I never interpreted it as their intention to reestablish the Confederacy.
I don’t see a similarity. The Confederate flag has been a symbol of nonconformity for 50 years at least. Here you have Putinist Russia flying the Soviet flag while on a holy war to reconstruct it. Putin has stated quite clearly what a tragedy the disolution of the USSSR was. And there is no private property in Russia if Putin or another authority wants your property.
Disagree!
And there is no private property in Russia if Putin or another authority wants your property.
“Unless of course you’ve continued study.”
Constantly.
“But, I don’t think he fears NATO.”
Which shows the fraud of his using Ukraine’s interest in joining NATO as a pretense for invasion.
Indeed.
Crazy people seem to have a habit of telling everyone what they want to do. Hitler did it. Putin did too.
He wants to rebuild the old 'Soviet Union'. He's been doing it for a while. Maybe, he's running out of time?
Or maybe, he thinks NOW is a good time to make a lot of progress.
Weren’t you talking about them leveling the city if the people
wouldn’t surrender, and so not surrendering was a bad idea?
If it comes to my town, there will be no surrendering. Those
who wish to won’t be on my side.
What propaganda is it that you think I have heard that causes
you to think it turned me against you?
I wonder how many biolabs are in this city, if Russia is so
intent on capturing it.
