Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate and TV personality Dr. Mehmet Oz told reporters Tuesday that if elected in November, he would be willing to give up certain security clearances in order to keep his U.S.-Turkish dual citizenship. Oz again said he keeps his dual citizenship so he can care for his mother, who lives in Turkey and has Alzheimer's disease. "I can love my country and love my mom," Oz said, according to Politics PA's Steve Ulrich.

So he will run for Senate, get elected, and immediately make it clear his loyalties also lie elsewhere? What a stupid campaign stand.

Good God, I hope he is not the only choice for a republican senator

So Turkey forbids visits by US Senators who aren’t Turkish citizens?

He is such a phony POS. The fact that Hannity supports this faker and often has him on his radio show is even more disgusting. Please, PA, don’t vote for a trojan Horse.

Americans think the USA is a nation

In fact, we are being transformed into a liberal-hegemonist globalist empire.

We have congressmen and women who actively promote the interests of Mexico, Central America, Somalia, Israel, India, China etc... Soon we may add Turkey to the list.

Between this and Ukraine, I think Sean is compromised.

No loyal to the USA? No place in the senate for him. He’s always been kinda snake like. Never trusted anything he said.

It is not loyalty....it is capability to do the job.

A US Senator without a security clearance cannot access any classified information. So a hypothetical Senator Oz would not be able to do 1/3 of his job....overseeing intelligence and security agencies.

He’s always seemed like an opportunist to me. How long has he even resided in PA, and how much time does he actually spend there?

Another example of why the 17th Amemdment should be repealed! The Pa legislature does do stupid things but I doubt if this TV Whiz-Bang would get any traction there!

The Founders got a lot of things right. But they also got a few things wrong. One of them was not prohibiting dual citizenship. Mixed loyalties are never a good thing.

More sleezey tactics. RINOs, lobbyists and China Democrats want David (of the Swamp) McCormick so we lose the general. You may get your wish.

Bummer. I was all in for him based on his still pretty-boy looks as well as familiarity. You know-suburban housewives who just might watch him daily.

Talks a good game and I’d still back him if he’s our best hope to keep the seat. Remember Pennsylvania is funny. Santorum went wobbly-had to. Lost anyway. Toomey went really wobbly-forced out. Then there’s Spincter switching parties. It may be the state. Santorum won in a wave election(’94). Won again during a pendulum-swing WH year(2000). 2 decent terms until there was no hope. Casey was an empty suit. Santorum proved it in 3 nationally televised debates. Didn’t matter.
