Putin's forces may only be able to keep up the fight for another 14 days, defence sources say as increasingly-desperate invaders launch more devastating strikes on Kyiv this morning

Russian forces may only be able to sustain full fighting capacity for another 'ten to 14' days, senior UK defence sources indicated last night, after which Putin's men will struggle to hold the ground they have already captured from Ukrainian troops.

UK defence sources say that Kyiv has Moscow 'on the run' and the Russian army could be just two weeks from 'culmination point' - after which 'the strength of Ukraine's resistance should become greater than Russia's attacking force.' Advances across Ukraine have already stopped as Moscow's manpower runs short.

-snip-

as Russia's invasion falters, its methods become more brutal - with cities increasingly coming under indiscriminate rocket fire. Kyiv, the capital, suffered another round of bombing on Tuesday morning as apartment blocks were set on fire by early-hours strikes, though there was no immediate figure on casualties.

Ukraine's military said four Russian helicopters, a jet, and a cruise missile were shot down by its forces which remained in control of all major cities - including the badly-hit southern port of Mariupol.

Putin's stuttering invasion has forced even his close allies to admit, publicly, that things are not going to plan.

Cultists like you always think someone else is controlling those who disagree with you.

Just maybe some people know a little about the world situation and have arrived at the amazing opinion that Russia launching an all out land war in Europe is not a good development.

But of course the NWO oligarchs made me think that.

I think some folks are easily brainwashed by mass media—not naming any names of course.

“Now we can all read your stupid insults as an “answer”.”

You clearly lack if you think my insults are stupid.

Unlike you and the other world experts on here, I’m just trying to sort through the information I get. I didn’t even know that Ukraine had a us sponsored coup in 2014. I do now. Unlike all you self proclaimed experts, my life had very little to do with Ukraine before the build up and invasion.

The US supported a lab in Wuhan that ended up screwing the whole world.

Ukraine has 26 biolabs, with US support. This is a fact. Would that be Fauci again?

Ukraine has played ball with the Dems, including Burisma and Hunter Biden.

Yeah, I’m suspicious. I don’t have all the answers. But I do try to look at it objectively. I see your definition of objective is: If Trump is for it so am I.

Your opinion of me doesn’t mean squat. I couldn’t care.

Your hypocrisy is on on display. You accuse Kevmo of being simple minded (your one dimensional thinking comment) and then act surprised, shocked, insulted when someone else makes a similar comment about you.

You make posts saying it’s just the internet and your opinion matters, but you call me a jerk when challenged. You are a thin skinned, whiny, little chicken $h1t hiding behind your keyboard. My background matters because I can speak from more experience than someone pontificating from your basement command post man cave (is this your mother’s basement?). The first place you went to when challenged was your own drunken insults. Now you know what I think of you. Do I care if you are butt hurt? No. But take your butt hurt somewhere else.

This is not "deep state".

The fact is that Putin and his coterie did not plan this well.

They thought they would be welcomed, they didn't expect a push back, they didn't plan for air superiority or supply lines.

This is piss poor planning by the Putinistas

brownsfans I don’t think there is a clear good guy or a clear bad guy in all this. It’s so difficult to get anything close to truthful information

The clear bad guy is Putin - he invaded a sovereign country to prevent that country joining a defensive alliance that was supported by the majority of the population and would have protected that country against Putin invading

How difficult is it to see that Putin is the bad guy - clearly

As to the good guy, that's good guyS - the Ukrainians are defending their country against an invader - Putin's army.

Note - I'm clearly avoiding the word "Russians" - and this is Putin's private war

Funny thing, Putin never mentioned the bio labs in his announcement laying out the causes of the war. That is just a post hoc justification for the war. In the run up to the war the primary complaint from Russia was that Ukraine wanted to join NATO. If that is a reasonable justification, then Russia also has cause to invade Finland and Sweden, both of whom have expressed interest in joining NATO. Would you support Russia if it invaded either of those two countries?

brownsfan Yeah, no concern over biolabs, or Ukraine being a US puppet, or the threat of NATO missiles in Ukraine.

Biolabs?: Unlike Russia, Ukraine isn’t known to have any bioweapons program whatsoever. Putin is almost certainly putting out this fake news as a pretext for escalating the conflict soon, possibly as a means to ‘justify’ his own use of biological or chemical terror weapons. He used the same tactic in Syria.

This is a classic example of spin and misinformation. Find something that has a tiny bit of truth to it, and then twist and distort it until it looks nothing like reality.

Is the U.S. developing bio-weapons in Ukraine? The answer to that is an absolute no.

The U.S. is not now, nor has it ever developed, manufactured or deployed biological weapons in Ukraine.

Are there - as claimed - U.S. Biolabs in Ukraine? The answer is yes, but they have a very different purpose than what some have claimed. When the Soviet union collapsed in 1991 all sorts of old soviet weaponry was left in Ukraine. Ukraine actually had thousands of old Soviet tanks (very many of them, largely T-72’s were sold off since the 90’s, but a very large number of T-64’s remain in mothballed status). In fact, about one third of the entire soviet nuclear arsenal was left in Ukraine after the collapse. These were either destroyed or returned to Russia in 1994 in exchange for Russian guarantees of non-aggression towards Ukraine. (something that is telling in retrospect given the current invasion)

In addition to these other weapons, there were also a large number of old Soviet biological weapons in Ukraine. These are notoriously dangerous and difficult to dispose of. Over the years Ukraine sought international assistance to properly dispose of these weapons resulting in U.S. bio-facilities specialized in safely decommissioning and destroying biological weapons being set up in Ukraine.

These are the bio-labs that Russian state propaganda started using as part of their excuse to invade Ukraine. They misrepresented them as labs intended to develop weapons, and suggested that Russia was going to secure them.

brownsfan Yeah, no concern over biolabs, or Ukraine being a US puppet, or the threat of NATO missiles in Ukraine.

Ukraine being a US puppet?: huh - what are you smoking? There were elections in 2019 in which Poroshenko was elected out. There were international observers who verified that these were free and fair elections.

How are they US puppets?

NATO missiles in Ukraine: Again, what are you smoking? NATO didn't even place missiles east of Germany until Russia now invaded Ukraine in 2022.

Putin placed himself in a position where he doesn’t dare to turn his back to anybody he’s more dangerous than ever.

If the troops pull out and nothing is said color him gone.

“Now you know what I think of you.”

And your inflated view of yourself makes you think I care?

Never did I say my opinion matters to anyone but me, it’s just my opinion. But then, revision seems to come natural to you.

Your time in the military makes you an expert on Ukraine? Mmmmm, ok. And don’t concern yourself with my butt!

apillar, I think there are a few things here

1. Yes, Russia's military is weak -- this is EXACTLY like Russia's military in the 1800s. It was great at fighting the Iranians and the Turks and the Central Asians; against whom they had technological superiority. But if the Russians faced western powers, they collapsed. Russian military is great against the Islamic state, but even against Turkey I think they wouldn't fare well

2. Russian military does NOT have its heart in this fight. This is not like the action in Syria where they had a clear purpose against a foreign enemy. It's not even like Russian army fighting Poles or Germans or Baltics etc - definite "other". This is Putin making Russians fight brother Slavs - who look like them, speak a similar language. the Russian military has no motivation for this -- it's like Italy in WWII - upper class Italians were Anglophiles and lower class Italians were pro-America. And both despised Germans. So the Italian army had no heart in fighting people they LIKED, on behalf of people they disliked

3. unpreparedness. The Russian army was just not prepared

Would this be different if they were fighting, say, Poland? I guess so

“These are the bio-labs that Russian state propaganda started using as part of their excuse to invade Ukraine. They misrepresented them as labs intended to develop weapons, and suggested that Russia was going to secure them.”

26 biolabs, not weapons labs, working with dangerous pathogens. Why do they exist? Why does the US support them. Why weren’t they secured in the run up to the invasion?

“Is the U.S. developing bio-weapons in Ukraine? The answer to that is an absolute no.”

Hey, the US didn’t fund the lab in Wuhan either. Oh, by the way, I was banned from internet sites for saying the virus likely came from that lab. Your absolute belief is not comforting.
