As if we need any more reasons for food shortages and/or increased food costs.

Now that covid is over, the chinks are sending more diseases. A gift from Poyang Lake, PRC.

I wonder if people who shop routinely at Costco are getting any savings compared with the regular supermarket.
We usually go there a couple of times a year and fill the freezer, but today my husband suspected that they wouldn’t be any better right now than other places.

If you don’t live in Iowa, buy locally grown, pasture-raised chicken. I buy that and my butcher says that’s all he’ll eat too.

Mandate for chickens to be vaxed or they won’t be allowed to lay eggs.

Russia claimed the Ukraine biolabs were working on a more lethal, mutated bird flu with a 50% kill rate FWIW. 🤔

"...highly lethal bird flu in a commercial flock of egg-laying chickens..."
Happens every few years - that's why we have our own hens. Egg production away from commercial flocks.
And in a SHTF scenario, if you can raise 4 hens you can raise 40. The initial learning curve has already been scaled.
